Never installed a socket in my 50 years as a American electrician. Installed thousands of duplex receptacles. Got shocked with 120, 208, 240, 277 volts and a few hits with 5,000 volt oil burner transformers. Always thought the USA system of only using 120 volt for all 15 & 20 amp circuits ten times safer then the 220 or 240 volts that most if the world uses.

I have done that in the past on flatter surfaces. I'm happy with this method for walls that are not so flush. 👍🏼

What was the previous spark thinking using 2 modes of switching? Overkill as the spur is switched & has fuse protection. Great vid👍

4 wires, 2 modes, one bypass the PIR (override feature)?, one with PIR (switched line)?

orange crimps on a 1.5 mm flex...? orange is 4mm black is 1.5mm .. FTR .. also i would have back filled the penetrations through the wall with silicon or similar (maybe you did as you did on the socket) and maybe even added an exterior wiska box ... just my comments on the light. also do you not always drill out the drain hole on those external sockets to prevent the issue you raised on water ingress ?

Yes these were some crimps I've had for a while, they are 1mm actually and red. In regard to the sealing, the light was sealed from outside. Thanks

What's the average cost for installing a double external socket?

Did you drill out the drain hole on the outside socket?

For sure, you can see from the video there's a fair bit of editing to shorten it down. 👍🏼

    What size is the fuse?

Couldn’t you have replaced the switched fuse with a single socket and moved the switched fuse to the right? 1st year apprenticeship trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can! Enjoying the vids 😊
