Try scanning the East Mediterranean coast using Google Earth. Israel is so small on a map it's hard to write it's name on the map. Yet with Google Earth it is very clear where Israel is. An oasis of green in desertification made by Muslims. Thank God, as with the story of the Barn Owls, slowly the neighbours are realising what a blessing it is to have Israel and Jews for neighbours.

I was there right before and after the first gulf war. What amazes me is how from nothing, farms were cropping up, what was desert was now in bloom and I could go on and on. I've been to quite a few countries in Europe and throughout the Mediterranean and I've never been treated better than when I was in Israel (from both Israelis and Palestinians. I'm Catholic and American) I understand things change and it was around 25 years ago since I was there, but I don't think I'd hesitate to return if I could ever afford it. (Btw, I'm an American and a Catholic. It didn't matter to the Jews or Muslims which religion I was, all were genuinely kind.)
I may be strongly opposed by some of Israel's policies but for a nation that's 12 years older than mine, I got to give it to Israel for out performing & out smarting its critics since its birth!
