William Contreras is the best catcher in the league right now. He will be an all-star this season.
He keeps this up, an MVP may also be in his future
He's insanely good.
I see a lot of the original 'pudge' (Carlton Fisk) in him. He can do it all!
He might also be a dodger next year 😢😢😢😢😢😢
@@FilmedbyGwennybro he's under brewers control until 2027 and there are talks about an extension
Theres something about a team whose best player is the catcher... like he's involved in everything on defense, and the best bat this season. Team feels special. No superstars, just a bunch of amazing ball players.
Looking back there have been some amazing teams that have had really great catchers. Johnny Bench with the Cincinnati Reds is one that comes to mind instantly. Other great catchers like Pudge Rodriguez, Gary Carter, Thurman Munson, Carlton Fisk, and others are extremely vital to their teams. Not only are they important for their offense, power, average, but also their defensive abilities. They have ⚾️⚾️baseballs⚾️⚾️ thrown at them sometimes at 100+mph, sometimes they have a curve or a break that's just insane to see, let alone catch. Plus they have to throw out some of the top baserunners in the game. But even more importantly, these guys have to work with every pitcher. They "call" games in a sense. The chemistry that a pitcher and a catcher must have is unbelievably important. That level of trust a pitcher needs is essential for the pitcher/catcher relationship to thrive. Johnny Bench was the perfect example of this. So was Gary Carter. A catcher can help rookie pitchers so much. Their experience with the hitters can help the rookies ability to succeed against them. The catcher isn't the most "glamorous" or the most popular position in ⚾️🧢Baseball🧢⚾️, but it is, and I stand by this assessment. It is the MOST IMPORTANT position on the field. It carries the most responsibility, requires you to have the most knowledge about hitters, baserunners, and even umpires. Right now the Brewers have an absolutely amazing catcher playing for them, and the backup is pretty good as well!
Altuve was swinging where he wishes his height was 😂
Go brewers!!!
This is my Crew!
Best bull pen in baseball ❤
CREW!!!!
Nice win brewers
Before I give the Brewers some props, Justin Verlander, 👏 deserves major respect! I can remember him dominating in Detroit. He's been a beast for years and at 41 years old he's still a beast! Now the Brewers....
I've been extremely critical of them. Well with their front office and the cheap @ss owner, however I have to say this. I hated that they dumped Josh Hader, then Corbin Burnes, as well as quite a few of the other free agents that they had signed. But the young prospects have been absolutely incredible. Both with their offense and as shown at the 1:50 or so mark their defense and their arms. William Contreras has been on fire again both offensively and defensively. He's been gunning down runners left and right, and his .350 batting average has been incredible! Both home run power and great timely hitting. Doubles, singles, when needed Contreras has been a huge spark. The prospect they got for Corbin Burnes, J.Ortiz has been another great player. Bryce/Brice Turang another great young player. Right now this team has some really great rookies. Potential rookie of the year candidates easily. I still love Corbin Burnes, but I am beginning to feel less angry at his departure. The Pitcher we got in the Josh Hader deal has been pretty darn good as well. I was too critical of this team. I was wrong. This somewhat reminds me of when the Brewers had a really great farm system over a decade ago. Players like Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun, Johnathan Lucroy, JJ Hardy, etc. These young kids with Christian Yelich back from his injuries (hope and pray he stays healthy!), this could be the best offensive team we've had in a while. The pitching staff isn't as top notch as it was the last few years but they have been very good as well. I was one of those who said the Brewers were not going to be able to get out of the cellar of their division. Again I was WRONG! Now are they just as good as say the Dodgers? The Yankees? Well they have taken their lumps against these billion dollar teams, but they've also had some good shots as well. My fear is that with how many times players on this team get shuffled, signed then let go, etc that any chemistry they get will be erased after this season ends? This core unit is extremely talented! They have some great potential! I'm hoping that they can keep it intact.
Best part is a lot of these kids are under team control for 2-3 years. Adames would be my only worry contract wise. Mark's gonna have to open up the checkbook a little wider to keep him and Freddy...and Willy's basically the ring leader of the team
I will comment on every brewers game win this season!
Brewers ground Verlander down in the 5th. Good win for the Crew.
Bryse Wilson > Justin Verlander
Yup heard Kate upton just left Justin for bryse
