Please help me. I have a problem. When I save the image and open the place where it is saved, the window of the program you drew in it opens. The drawing should appear without its own program as an image.

@@DaveLennonCopeland Oh wow. I overestimated. It's been 13 years for me. I started around 2006-2007. Never used photoshop even though I could've. lol I could just do everything i needed in gimp anyway. And gimp was way easier to learn everything. If you didn't know you can actually download extensions for gimp to add features to it.

    • @DaveLennonCopeland
      @DaveLennonCopeland 4 роки тому +1

emanandchill - I've been using GIMP for about 6 years now, it's still my goto art program. It's easy to learn, as you say, and above all, it's free... Adobe Photoshop is ok but at £540 ($700) and/or some weird subscription price, who would really want it save for professional digital artists... And yeah, I do know about extra downloadable GIMP plugins, Script-Fu and brushes... I tried the Krita program, but still go back to GIMP... :)

I have been using Krita for a while and enjoying it overall but after watching this video my appreciation towards Krita has greatly increased. Till now I was not aware that Krita was so much more than just another of the many Photoshop alternatives. But damn Krita is super freaking goood. Though I haven't used a lot of Photoshop features but the features which I just saw in Krita like able to detect objects through it's AI ( if I'm correct ), the ease of use and so many brushes with lots of different things to do are all so good and fun to play with.
The people who have contributed to this open source project are really intelligent and hard working, keep up the great work and also you too Teacher's Tech 👍

Author makes too many assumptions that you you know how to use Photoshop or Coral Paint. If you already know how to use those programs his info. isn't that useful. The problem with free art programs is that the developers continue to improve the software but the tutorials become rapidity outdated.

This tutorial looks really good but I'm having trouble understanding, has Krita updated since this video? My screen has bigger buttons and things look misplaced, I don't know how to edit any of them like I do on Medibang :(

I just bought a XP-PEN Deco 3 and from Krita website seems the model isn't compatible with the software. Anyone has news?

I was following along with you with my Krita on my tablet all the way until. Transform Layer. I clicked on the rectangular box and instead of highlighting the rectangular box it highlighted the entire background, the same goes for transforming the box to different dimensions. the highlighted corners all belong to the background so I am unable to transform the sides of the rectangle. DO you know why it is behaving this way?
    Thanks

    Hi Jamie - great tutorial!
I have run into a snag though, that I cannot find a solution to:
on the RHS of the screen I have my "Layers", "Compositions" - but no "Undo History".
Does this tab need activating somewhere?
Thank you and best regards from Germany,
    Volker

Hey! I use Krita and you just need to go to the settings tab at the top and chose which dockers you want to show!

@@jennifermcneely4041 Thanks. Unable to get it as a tab next to Layer and Channel though. I tried moving it to align them the way they are here in the video but it stays as a separate docker. How do I fix that?

This is much more complex and overwhelming program than I expected, I am a complete beginner. I have been looking at ProCreate which appears simple to use and wanted an alternative to use with Windows, not sure if this is it...

I made a new project yesterday just to quickly practice shading.
But for the first time the fill tool didn't work and completely filled the entire screen every time no matter how tight I made a simple circle.
When I finally googled help and fiddled with the tool options for the tool I got it working.
But that one of the most basic tools every single useless drawing software ever has, wasn't working just made me call it a day immediately after fixing it.
I know drawing an animating takes time and a lot of planning hence why I take my time.
BUT the one thing I can never ever stand is when anything basic and elementary to the work, isn't working as intended.

At 17:36 You were able to remove that black background/border without removing the picture. How did the software 'know' to remove that and not the entire image?

It's like the reverse of a fill tool, you sample the color that you want to have selected and you can modify it, in this case he deleted every single pixel of that specific black in that image.

This was a great video for beginners in this Krita software. Thanks! Please do another video on beginner animating in Kritia?
