DroneMask just released the new and improved version of their DroneMask product. It is designed to give you a first person view while flying a camera drone. Instead of having your phone mounted on your controller, the DroneMask 2 puts the screen right in front of your eyes. The result is an immersive flying experience that only FPV can give you. The DroneMask 2 doesn't have any electronic components, so it works with any camera or FPV drone that uses your phone to give you the live view of the drone's camera. You can use it for a Mavic Mini, Mavic Mini 2, Mavic Mini Pro 3, Mavic Air, Air 2S, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic 3, DJI FPV, and DJI AVATA.
With the FPV and AVATA, it works best as a way to share the FPV experience with another person while you fly. This can be great for introducing or teaching FPV to someone who is just starting out.
In addition to all that, the DroneMask 2 can be used to view movies and augmented reality (AR) experiences on your phone.

DroneMask 2 fits with my iPhone 12 Pro Max in it, but with the mask weighing 425 grams... plus the 228 grams the iPhone Pro Max weighs... you end up with 650 grams on your head, or around 1.45 pounds. Terribly uncomfortable if you have a big phone in my opinion. I needed to extend the focal distance all the way out, so there's a big weight on the very end of it with nothing to counter balance it.
Fair points. I wore them for about 20 minutes while shooting this video and it was not bad. But might be uncomfortable for a full 2 hour movie. Although...you could lie on your back so your neck is not holding the weight...The lazy man's way to fly!
I love the idea of using the goggles to let a client see whats goings on, now I'm interested!

Ha ha! I wanted him to have popcorn, but Pringles were the closest thing in the office.
I ordered a mask and it’s almost here I ordered it for Gaming and Movies Rather then Drone Flying but at least it won’t Go Obsolete with Future phones it’ll only get better with newer phones they Originally created these Masks for Recreating the Theater experience and that’s basically what I bought mine for lol thank you for the review made me want one
They look interesting but I need to have my situational awareness while I’m flying, plus I’ve heard if you have astigmatism you won’t have the best results with these masks. Hi, after watching your video on the dronemask 2 I ordered one to use with my dji 3, I’ve got the one with the separate controller, I obviously need to connect my iPhone to the drone/ controller but having difficulty? Can you you help please? Cheers

hello from Indonesia, at the 11th minute, your friend is using another Goggles that is different brand from yours and both of you can share the screen, could you please tell us the name of the other Goggles used? and how to connect it ? is it as simple as plug and play? or require additional software that needs to be installed? The other goggles are called DJI Goggles 2. They work with the Avata drone. They connect easily to a phone which has the DJI fly app.
If I consider buying the MaskDrone2, does it comes with the Drone itself? Or is it something I would need to buy separately? Do you by any chance know?
No, it doesn't come with a drone. You'll need to purchase your drone and phone separately.
with the DJI mask you have a lower resolution in the mask, with the other mask you have the full resolution as far as the phone used in the mask allows. Correct?
The phone will generally be much higher resolution, depending on the model.

Does DJI V2 goggles provide usable hdmi out signal when using Avata.
The V2 goggles have a USB-c port, which provides a clean video feed to your mobile device running the DJI fly app. I wish it would display all the info on screen, but at least we get a video feed.

Probably, but I don't own a set. I'm not sure if actual VR goggles can be used for drone flying.

How many here can't fly FPV because of motion dizziness?
I ordered the dronemask 2 last week and received it yesterday. The quality of the product is great. It is really well built, however; I was not impressed with the functionality. The whole "immersive experience" everyone talks about is not a real thing. I guess I was expecting something closer to a fpv. It helps during a sunny day but that is pretty much it, but when people say "wow the screen is huge, it feels like being in the movies" I would have to say BS. There are similar and cheaper alternatives (not split screen). In mine 24 hours hands on experience, it is not worth the $. I'm in the process of returning mine and getting a refund.
Did you find a better alternative ??
$180 for a phone case? This is a fucking joke....GOOGLE CARDBOARD!
I hear you! It's definitely a niche product, but I don't know how well Google cardboard would work with the DJI fly app. I think Cardboard needs a specific VR app, which creates two images. (I haven't used it before though.)
Also, in terms of light leak and flying in the sun, Cardboard might not be ideal.
It's a luxury item for sure, but so are drones.
