You must add a steel plate for an aluminum F-150 to mount a magnetic light. The cheap, often FREE, Harbor Freight flashlight has a good magnet.
Which be free steel mount or flashlight

Great solution for those who's truck does not have factory bed lighting.
Looks like a pretty cool product. Watching this video reminded me of those light switch lights for closets or other places where a light can come in handy. I believe they have a peal backing on them. Just peal and stick. I wonder how those would work in a truck bed as well? 🤔

That red light looks pretty good, versatile and useful. It lights good, and can angle nicely, and it's magnet definitely looks capable enough to do what you need or want.
Coming from an older pickup to my new Chevy 2500HD, I love the GM-provided bed lights, even with the console switch requirement. That being said, there’s always room for improvements and the versatility of movable battery powered lights can’t be beat.

I used LED UnderGlow lights in my 2013 F250. The folks that installed them, put them up under both bed rails and front of bed with no drilling holes. They ran it to the upfitter switch for power. Works great for the 11 yrs they’ve been in and no issues or non functioning LED chips !!!
I just pull out my iphone and turn the flash light on. Never failed
It's failed for a lot of folks trying to balance their iPhone, not leave it on the tailgate, and not excessively drain your battery.

LOL...I would expect no less from GM...why I won't own one....they don't make anything easy. Unfortunately I bought my F350 STX off the lot and they didn't order the bed lighting. To install the factory lights I have to buy a fairly large wiring harness...not cheap and a pain to install, so I like this option.
