i remember my grandma telling me about my my great grandmother that was about 103yrs old! im surprised that she even made it that far, i last saw her when i was about 5-6yrs old until she sadly passed away peacefully in her bedroom.
When I was a kid, I had the 1986 Guinness World Records book. In the book it had as the oldest living person as Shigechiyo Izumi from Japan at 120 and some odd years old. Well it was later debunked and Guinness has since named someone else in that time frame for being older. On throughout the 90s when we got the internet, I would check in ever so often to see who held the title. A pattern developed. The 'oldest person that ever lived' kept on changing. There were those with 'confirmed' claims of over 120 years. Every single one got debunked. Turned out most were Juniors with the same name as their parents. Some did it for like a military pension their parent received. So as the years go by, anyone who claimed over 120 years was debunked. There was a 100% failure rate. So, fast forward to 2018 - 2019, I get a news feed of a Kane Tanaka from Japan was named 'the oldest living person'. So upon reading about Kane Tanaka I find out that she's a Christian, which is rare as Christianity makes up only 1% of the Japanese population. According to the bible man's days are limited to 120 years. So for the last year, I have been following Mrs Tanaka. Come January I get another news feed Mrs Tanaka turns 119! I start thinking, "she's gonna make it! " but to sadly have my hopes dashed in April when I get the news feed of her passing. 😢 Kane Tanaka 2 January 1903 - 19 April 2022 She said in an interview that she contributed her longevity to being Christian and that she wished to reach 120 which shows she was knowledgeable of God's Word. So over the summer when Roe vs wade was overturned, I was contemplating the issues 🤔 when it came over me: Kane Tanaka. I quickly count the months..... but the months come up short. We generically say 9 months but full term is actually 39 to 40 weeks . Well, I thought, maybe she was born premature, but there's no way to know that of someone who was born in 1903. Dissatisfied, I go to Kane Tanaka's Wikipedia page and there I find how Mrs Tanaka was born premature and that her birth date was actually days and maybe even a week before what was recorded. Her family said this because of being born premature they thought she would die. From 19 April to 2 January is 8 1/2 months. I absolutely believe Kane got her 120 years. BTW next on the list is Sarah DeRemer Clark 25 September 1880 - 30 December 1999. Just 9 months shy of 120 years. Both Christians ✝️ Humans celebrate BIRTHdays, not conception. Also, as of now there's a French woman being claimed at 122, it's technically "confirmed" and while following Tanaka the Philippines were claiming someone over 120 but that name disappeared. The French lady is highly disputed and will disappear with time.
