A very nice alternative to a SAK with attractive scales. I often wonder, who actually uses the cork screw on a pocket knife, besides those that like to picnic on a weekly basis? 🤔
Checked to see if I could buy this in the UK and noticed you can get a lovely olive wood version for under £20! Cant decide between the olive wood and deer antler now
The Victorinox knives are not super hard either but they are perfectly good enough and sharpen very easily. That is more important than having a super steel because it's fashionable.
I don't much like stainless, for aesthetic reasons, and would only get a knife in stainless if it was a cheap knife or the steel was one of the more exotic alloys(more because I want to test its limits than anything practical.
Was eyeing up these Mercury's a couple of months ago, there might have been up to 10 different options and my brain fused, went into some sort of knife collectors feeding frenzy and couldn't pick one. Got an SAK Farmer instead (no regrets whatsoever). It will happen though, those scales are fantastic.
A friend gifted me an antique Imperial Boy Scout knife about a week ago, and I instantly fell in love with it. Showed it off to my family via photos in texts, and my dad sent me a photo of an antique Japanese camping knife that includes scissors, a saw, a spoon, and maybe a few other things. I was instantly infatuated with it, but it’s a prized possession of his so I had to find my own. Have you tried Mercury’s 9-in-1 knife? I believe the model number is 913-8DC. I’m Jonesing pretty strongly for one right now.
Excellent review, I was wondering what happened to the other video when I was looking for it recently... Just one note though. The knife is not called "Range". They say Range 913 on their website as that's the poor English translation for Serie 913, just as they have other series with different series numbers.
Looks like a heavy duty Knife, I tried to hoodwink all father out of a small pan blade today but he would not give it up I made a video on it it’s a small retractable pen knife from the 1934 New York world’s fair. I remember when he got in 1969, but don’t you worry my friend I’ll wear him down and I’ll get it
Tracy81258, amen brother. I think most of it is bragging rights. I also wonder how many of those so-called super steels are over-hyped, over-rated, and/or essentially the same quality steel as 30 other steels. Much of it is just a sales gimmick, I think.
They're never to old to watch. 😊
This is such a cool knife. Thanks for watching
Really cool knife, thanks for the chat
lovely stuff
Beautiful stag. The fork is an interesting addition. Thanks for sharing.
Nice looking scales. Really makes the knife stand out.
Real stag and good workmanship. I wish USA made such knives at reasonable prices.
The knife isn't perfect but it really is well made. I really like it!
Really like the covers on this one! Thanks for sharing Tobias!!
Thanks. There's something about stag. I think this was the first knife I ever got with stag/antler handles.
Thanks for the great video, always interesting.
A most handsome knife indeed, antler handles are so nice!

@@garethbaus5471 Hi Garth. We all have our preferences for sure. Handsome is as handsome does is my approach.

"I eat my peas with honey;
I've done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste funny,
But it keeps them on the knife" (or fork)
I always make mashed potato’s when eating peas.
Of all the American versions of Swiss Army Knives is this your favorite one?And do you have another favorite?

Hmm, I've always wanted an SAK in stag.
Which is the primary reason I bought this knife. LOL
Never have figured out why people are such steel snobs these days. Our ancestors settled whole continents with knives most folks today would sneer at.
