Just wanted to mention I've been enjoying your tutorials and now this new series! I'm a newer player and have enjoyed it so far, but it's nice to see others play and help when needed! I've learned a lot and I thank you!
2 settings I like to change, Fast Crafting because I'm not going to sit there and watch me process 1K Flax. Also, Season Length. I like 8 day seasons. I play to relax, not to rush. Enjoy!! ;-]
My favorite location for starting a new game is along the river west from Gostovia. It's quite central, you can easily reach the northern villages for quests and you're set for stone, clay, straw and wood. Like you suggested, best first move is to find loot. Once I have a bow and arrows I start hunting and sell what I hunt for gold. Then I start building up some houses: 3 small houses, well, wood, storage and then I get my first villager (to get wood) and gradually expand. Then it's all about preferred game style. If I feel like hunting I go trouble the wildlife, if I feel like staying at home I craft firewood, dried meat or I start farming. The more I manually do at home the higher the skill goes in that tree. Sometimes I do a run in the entire valley and complete all quests. Kinda fun little game and it's quite interesting to see how different playstyles you can have. :) Cheers for the vid!
Just started the game, man I went a totally different route (Been doing the story line quests)... I will absolutely get going on a loot run!! Subscribed!!
Great content! :D I just picked up this game yesterday and I am loving it! Thanks for all the help and the tips! I just watched your updated money guide, I learned a lot! :D
You have such a lovely voice and know what you're doing, I'm so happy to have found this video to learn from because I just got the game and I like knowing what I'm getting into so I'm not constantly failing lol. Great vid
Okay so for the people just starting the game , this video is more like a speed run type of play , I suggest you take it slow and enjoy the game there's no rush , this game is very slow paced if you want to chill So if you wanted to follow along this video remember that you might get bored of running from one end of the map to the other it's better to explore as you go and find those treasures more rewarding when you explore or stumble on them randomly
Yea, I forgot to mention to go at your own pace. 😅 I wanted to give a bit of a walkthrough so that people knew what could be done, but i could have gone a bit slower for sure.
My RNG on my play through is atrocious. Haven't found a single treasure with coins or just coins in general (unless I want to steal 2-3 from tge villager). Great vid by the way, I was wonder how to build the Well, now my wife should be happy lol 😂 Thanks!
Great video, I have some video suggestions that I'll drop off later at the community post if you like Also Stronghold is the best RTS game series in my opinion, specially campaign wise 🏰
Thank u!!!! Just started playing, was a honking of dropping it cause I couldn't figure a damn thing out.i died of thirst because I didn't know you could drink from ponds
Yessss im happy you uploaded some gameplay 🤩 love to see how you get through the spring. Cant believe how unlucky you were though, at least you got the village hoe 😏 lmao
Unfortunate on the loot run. You skipped the abandoned camp spawn by the crashed cart in the creek near the beginning, also the crashed cart over the saddle from the 300 coin bag spawn on top of the ridge. Then there's the camp to the left after the pickaxe cave, and the two-tier camp on the hill before the bridge. One other abandoned camp spawns to the east of the Triple Waterfall. With that camp not being there, I feel like a couple of the others would have popped for you. Luckily you didn't run into any bandits, though the Bronze Pickaxe can do some damage. On 20 runs of "The Looting Path", I average between 2000 and 3000 coins and some nice items to keep. Then I'll take the balance of the first 24 hours making 50-100 Stone Knives and gathering Broadleaf Plantain, Dandelion, and Daisies to get upwards of 4 Skill points for Survival, plus 1-2 points in Production, as well as unlocking several buildings. Morning of Day 2 I'll sell then make the run to Denica for the Large Pouch and Simple Large Backpack. Then if I don't have a good bow I'll head on to Lesnica and get weapons and a good axe and knife. Then it's off to build the village! Enjoy the videos and seeing different people's playstyles. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you start a series! Pls consider playing with fast building, fast crafting and unlimited stamina for your sake and our sake... Less editing, faster episodes.. Also maybe even unlimited carry capacity.
Thank you! I might try and make the next episodes shorter if possible, but I'm not sure if I'll change any game settings for this first year. I may do better at cutting out/speeding up the building process post-production because that's the biggest time sink at the moment. I will probably run custom game settings for my co-op run next month tho 😀
Can't plant without fertilizing. I have 20+ hours in game and enjoying it so much. Now on year 2. Winter is very hard in the beginning when you don't have enough clothes
For any new players out there, from my experience the wiki for this seems fairly comprehensive and up to date, unlike some other games I play (I'm looking at you project zomboid.😂)
Are you going to do a tutorial on game settings to help new players like me understand them and make it easier for them to decide which ones they may want to change?
I can make a note to make a video about it! If you are new, I would recommend fast building, at the least, but if you feel like crafting takes too long, add fast crafting and/or unlimited carry weight if you dont like to deal with weight/inventory mabagement. Those 3 settings will impact the game the most 🙂
Wood needed? In German it is: “Wir benötigen HOLZ, Mylord!“ So i think... Stronghold Crusader. Or even the first one, Stronghold. One of my childhood games 😍 Edit, if i had to guess, i think i sunk probably more than 500 hours into it 😳😂
can you make a video that shows how you use the resource building in relation to all the skill buildings and the materials that you have to drag and drop to each one. I thought they pulled from the resource building, but I guess that's not the case. BTW - I did pay my tax to the king!
You should try running the route sometime and see what you can find! 🙂 I thought I had bad luck, but it probably wasn't as bad as I initially had thought. I was just salty I didn't get the bow 😆
Doesn't matter, really. If you have food spoilage on the ground in the Custom Game Settings turned off, you have to use the composter, else, I just prefer to drop it. Composter has limited space
Hey m8, amazing choice of music. can't seem to put my finger at song on 11:00 mark....sooo familiar, but still can't recall the name. can you help up? :D
I’m assuming this all still applys for multiplayer? Got some friends begging me to go play this with them, and I’m on the fence, either way very informative!
I couldn’t keep up with where you were. Plus there was definitely some edits where you skipped around so this wasn’t too helpful except for that beginning part with the card after that, I didn’t know where you were.
So, what you're telling me is you can cheese the shit out of the achievement for being caught stealing? Just pick up and drop the same item a bunch of times in front of people and then reload the last save once the achievement pops?
@@SirJayWalker The landscape already gives the impression of being in the American continent, the straw hat suggests a too "country" theme, the houses are mostly made of firewood and the nature are too virgin, which gives the impression of being in a colonial rather than feudal atmosphere, even the mere idea of the lakes doesn't give you the feeling that you are in a place like in post-Roman Europe, the rural roads must be made with stone to give the feeling that there was a civilization previous that laid the foundations of that medieval world. The ambience already seems too sunny, so a cloudy sky would be more in line with the context the developers are trying to show, unless they want to build a medieval world like the one that existed in Mediterranean Europe with Greco-Roman buildings and religious themes.
@@vltimate-lavncher-orev this is a dumb comment. For one, the developers are German, located in Munich making a medieval game. For 2, there is a crap ton of art from the middle ages with men wearing straw hats, particularly when depicting farmers. It was a pretty essential item. The vast majority of medieval europe was undeveloped. People were still living in villages of 10 - 20 families. The majority of roads weren't maintained after the collapse of the Western Roman Empire. Not to mention new roads would be carved out by walking, and of course in the Germanic areas there were no Roman roads considering they never controlled that side of the River Rhine or Danube. And finally, in the 5 years I lived in Germany, cloudy days were rare and only happened when rain was expected. I'm 100% positive you know nothing about this time period. Edit: the reason we had straw hats with our farmers in the US is because they brought them over with them. Gasp! What a crazy concept.
I pull up the map and explain what I'm doing and where I'm going many times during the loot run. If you'd like a better view on loot locations, I also mentioned Mapgenie: mapgenie.io/medieval-dynasty/maps/world filter by items only, and you can see all the possible spawn locations on the map. Hope this helps!
Sorry if you noticed the mic issues, I'll get that fixed for the next video 😅
Note, the monetary value changed drastically here. A large pouch costs 600+, a large backpack over 1000...
@xMisterVx it's still up to date for non-steam players, but I will make a new one when the update release for everyone else🙂

Beat me to it
Also worth mentioning, the loot you can find in the wild changes every season, so things that arent there now will pop up later.

You should try running the route sometime and see what you can find! 🙂 I thought I had bad luck, but it probably wasn't as bad as I initially had thought. I was just salty I didn't get the bow 😆
I picked the game up but I havent gotten too deep into it. Can you get locked out of any quest lines by not doing them right away?
Usually, you have a couple of seasons to do a quest after you picked it up. It will tell you in the quest log how much time you have once picked up!
How did you get your farming tech up? Either I didn’t see you show it and I went back but I’m missing it or you didn’t really explain
I got farming tech by plowing, seeding, and fertilizing the field. You can also get the tech if a farmer works the field for you
STRONGHOLD CRUSADERS MENTIONED RHEEEE WTF ARE BUILDING STOCKS
😆😆😆
Custom settings make the game more fun for me. Waiting to craft, build, etc is boring for me after playing through once
I agree! after awhile it gets very monotonous, so Fast Crafting/Building is usually a must for my own playthroughs.
Just wondering which is better, leaving the berries on the ground to rot next season or the composter?
