I went to the local sports store to buy a Mossberg 702 Plinkster just so I could make a comparison video to my 715t (which is basically a 702 plinkster). I was looking at all the rifles and saw the buttstock on this particular firearm, then my eyes scanned for a price tag and I saw "Mossberg 22 bolt action - $109".I told the guy behind the counter "Ill take it!" I really didn't care what it was. All I knew is I came for a .22 rifle, and I would be spending about $120. When I got it home I finally got a good chance to look at it I was amazed at how awesome this little rifle was.
I picked up one for $99 many many years ago.
Still works great. Just stock up on spare magazines.
I also keep 120 extra rounds in a loose cloth bag inside the buttstock.
Picked one up earlier today. It came with a scope for $150.00. Can't wait to take it to the range this weekend!
I bought one myself back in March, it has the same stock even. I've been very pleased with it also. Only issue I have with it, is the magazine can sit too high and won't feed the cartridge. This is prevented by lightly pulling the magazine down after it's been inserted. For a $150 rifle, I cannot ask for more.
I've seen it go for around $140 lately, and that's a damn good price for as cool as that thing looks. I'm a big proponent of bolt-action rifles (A) because they sound damn good, and (B) learning to make the shots count and conserve ammo is never a bad thing to learn early on.
I just bought one for my son’s first rifle. Thanks for the video.
Ps At 77 I am 15 for 15 on squirrels. All head shots at 50 or better yards. I still shoot the same single shot 22 I used 60 years ago. /All shots standing no brace. Do like your stuff. Keep it up.
I have the exact same rifle! Its the funnest rifle I own!
Sweet rifle, great shooter, I really like mine
Hi personaldfence. I just saw a few 802s at Canadian tire for 189$. They had beautiful wood stocks. Very aluring😂
According to the Mossberg site this is a Mossberg International 802 Plinkster
Savage Mark 2 f for 147 was the best I've ever seen price wise for a good .22 bolt gun.
I love this gun!
QUESTION? How do you REINSERT the BOLT when the Trigger has been Engaged and blocks the Bolt from being from reinserted???
Is there a RELEASE for the Trigger so that it drops to allow the bolt to slide back in?
Just ordered one. Should be in this weekend or Monday. Waiting is the hardest part....
Bought one for $170 canadian today and can't wait to shoot it :)
+Ian l And your thoughts on the gun so far??
Decent. I now have a bunch of bigger guns so it's now on the back burner lol it was a good time in the beginning
hello, i have got this rifle and i like to know how disassembly the bolt.i have got the exploded view but i dont see how to do.excuse for my English,i am french.thank you
Hello, thank you for having answered has my message.i knew already how to take(bring) out the bolt of the carabine.i would want just to know if you know how to disassembly totaly the bolt, bolt spring, the striker, bolt shim , etc.....
Thank you for advance
I'm digging the intro music!
Just bought mine for $120 here in hawaii
Wow that's a cool looking little rifle! I know what I want for Christmas now LOL.
My only complaing with my 802 is the Bolt is rough to say the least. Not smooth at all. Even my Mosin Nagants are smoother. But it's accurate, very light, and like you I love the stock. Bought a Ruger GP100 with the 6" barrel that day, first time I ever purchased 2 guns at once. I wasn't planning on a new rifle, but I saw that stock, I held it, and I saw the $129.99 price. She came home with me to.
vulpixgrant mine wasnt smooth to begin with but after about 1000 rounds, a clean and a light oil on the bolt it slides beautifully
I have the same 22 but I got mine for $400 Australian
Just got one $399 with a 4x fixed scope and a box of CCI Standard...... now the wait for the paperwork to clear.
Mossberg doesnt say that the barrel is chrome lined so I am going to say no. The cheek weld could be a tad higher, but its very comfortable to shoot with the mounts that I have. If you had some tall mounts it might be too low
I'm 6 years late on this video but could you please do a bolt disassembly and reassembly on this rifle
Love the music in the back round
I have one with a wood stock. Can you change the stock?
Hi, is there a problem with the wood stock?
Why does no one showed the removal of the bolt
Very good review. Been looking at 802 for a while.
Maybe the best for the money - but it doesn't touch CZ or Anschutz - those are heirloom quality, made to last generations ;)
where did you get that mossberg 802 from I have the 702
How did your scope yours mine doesnt have one
Can you do a comparison video between this, and Rugers bolt action Varminter in .22lr?
Where did you buy that nice 802 stocks? I really want one
if u look down the barrel u could tell if its chromed or not.
if you plan on hunting with it in thick brush the stock is a down fall. Due to the large "thumbhole" branches will get caught in it.
this is my first gun
model 52, its heavy, but works great
I put a flashlight on the front of mine. you really don't need a bipod or a laser sight.
Nice Slipknot in the background Man 🤘
here in Germany round about 280 dollars with discount...
man your groups make me jealous! im new to shooting. lucky to have fired 1000 rounds. still trying to find the best ammo for it. so far it enjoys RWS subsonics or winchester powerpoint. i will try to find thunderbolts.
one annoying thing is you cant put a cleaning rid down it as something protrudes in the breach area. do you clean yours? where do you put grease on the bolt? do you disassemble the actual bolt?
Do you think this baby can handle 22 Magnum or that would be pushing too hard ?
$425 for it here in Australia
I bought this Friday in Adelaide for $365 I think
seen that last week that it dropped in price im in adelaide too.
Just get a ruger American rimfire I've got the fancy kyrptec stock
Damn that's a rip-off.
In Chile the Price is U$D 200 more U$D130 in permisions and tramits, (Psicologo, Pólice, portable pemission )
My boyfriend just bought this today for $130
Ponle la correa para que se mire mejor
where did you get the scope mounting bracket
Bolt Action .22's; Where even the shitty ammo becomes top shelf. For about $50 more, I found a Marlin XT-22VR with a bull barrel. But this may find a home with me as well.
is the barrel cromed lined? also is the cheek weld high enough for the scope?
WHERE are these SOLD?
265 USD (250 eur) in France, Shooting in US seems so cheap !
10:15 my wife even dropped it one day, I've already filled for divorce, but the scope didn't loose zero, so that's good.
Can u rapid fire or do u have to work the bolt between each shot ?
What gun should I get
+Terry C I have a remington 597 that I bought, and it's quite decent. It came with a scope. I got it as nearly everyone I know owns a ruger 10/22....
The best?
stiff trigger
Ahhhhh, Beavis. He said Clam...
he's all about cosmetics
too bad it isn't a semi auto
+jack schitt
The 702 Plinkster is this one's Semi-Auto. brother.
Where can I get the Bolt Assembly for this gun mind was broke when it was giving to me Christmas
Dale Danielson i agree. have the exact problem. my cousin figured out as you did that you pull the magazine down slightly
Just bought mine for$120 here in hawaii
