I had an interview for a ground man and I passed everything in my assessment except for pulling up a transformer with the rope. They wanted me to get it 3/4 of the way up the pole and I barely got it halfway it was slipping through my gloves and I can’t find any videos of guys lifting a transformer by themselves using a rope, usually multiple guys or using equipment. After my interview I researched how much they weigh and it said almost 300 lbs.. I wanna see someone pull that up by themselves because I was really disappointed that was the only thing in my assessment I couldn’t do..
Do they have a different test for the females?? Because if they want to get into this trade and be equal then they need to be able to do everything a man has to do.
I went to a tryout recently and passed. There was one female in the class and she was treated no different. She seemed to do pretty well except for the block on the end of a pulley. They said it was 75 lbs but I don’t know about that.
@@mr.mortadella1174 did u apply for NEAT? If so what state you in? The math section isn’t hard you just need to know algebra and be quick solving the questions. Your time is limited. I finished all of the questions with just a few minutes to go over a few. Definitely be good with pemdas, solving equations, graph data, x y intercepts, arithmetic patterns.
Lmfao this the equivalence of gate keeping a job. It ain’t this serious. 😂 it’s like you guys don’t want people to get these jobs. On one hand they say the youth is lazy but then they give you test like this 😂. Not including the class A cdl u have to magically get before applying. I understand you have to be able to do these things on the job but the times for some of these are crazy.
@@IMTWOHUGE free climbing was honestly the easiest thing on this video buddy I was mostly talking about everything else. I have a JL buddy who says they didn’t have to do all this in they’re boot camp and they don’t work you this hard. Imagine working like this 100hours a week for life 😂😂😂. I’m complaining because there’s actually people out here who want to work but they’re making it much more complicated than what it has to be. 😂 First you apply, then you have to take a math ad reading test (easy for me, others not so easy) then you have to do a physical test (easier for some companies). Then you have to sit on a waiting list of 200+ people 😂. You also have to have a 3-4 grand class a cdl or they won’t even consider u (but on the application it says they prefer it but u don’t have to have it). And all of this takes time . For some it takes years 😂. There’s even a waiting list to be a groundhand. Can’t even work as a groundhand without a cdl. Like wtf . This is gate keeping.
@@dcbboy1616 Everyone’s path is a bit different.. I’ve landed at a coop now and this is pretty much how everyone here works on the construction crews at least. If you want a cake job you’ll have to earn it or just get lucky applying. Oil field workers, roofers, concrete workers, etc., all working this hard or harder and make less than a lineworker. If it was easy everyone would do it. I did a little research into the new CDL’s that do cost a lot though. Thats a bummer but it is possible to get loans or save money. I think some states (Iowa) still offer CDL’s under $1000
gate keeping lol, are you jealous? its keeping people that are not fit nor the drive/you out of the trade for the money. and its not complicated to get in... why would they pay you to get your cdl if your not serious? i went through hard times as a app as in broker than broke and a uber driver on the side with a wife and kid... and work this hard for 100 hrs a week lol? ok bud... your clearly jealous and have no drive.. i went from 22 bux a hr at comcast to 250k home every night because i wanted better for my family, no i dont work 100 hrs a week, yes i work 4/10's with a friday for ot. hmmmmm 3 k for a cdl is totally not worth 250k a year, i feel bad for you because you obviously feel like everything should be handed to you and the world owes you a well paid job for a very skilled job
Jeez any one of these tasks, in succession would really make me question my career choices. To those who did or didn't make it. Congrats either way.
I couldn’t do that even when I was in my prime. You guys got my respect.

And in this handline test they are only lifting 50lbs when in an interview I had to handline a nearly 300lb transformer
Yeah tahts bullshit man, no one pulls up transformers by themselves
Man I can’t wait to get my Selcat email with my interview date.
Is there a long wait I’m about to apply in 2 months after I get my CDL

Women are to be keepers at home according to God
I'm glad i chose to be a narrow back electrician
Lol, we definitely don't do this in NEAT
Honestly it's not a bad idea
What does NEAT do? I might be starting next bootcamp wanna know what to expect and prep for
