I wish your mom were here to see Ren. He didn’t have money either just luck. A doctor saw his health vlogs and took a shine to him bc his son was a musician. He offered to give Ren a transplant. He knows people suffer in silence. There isn’t enough funding. Little awareness. He’s turning his pain, his luck, and his hard work into a gift for others.

Thank you for speaking up for those struggling as your mother did. As someone with severe M.E, I promise you that your empathy and acceptance will have helped her so much. When we are doubted and dismissed by so many people, just being loved, believed, and supported is HUGE. It may not have saved her life, but you will absolutely have been the thing that made it worth living.
I hope you have the same compassion from the people around you as you deal with your own issues. ❤

Ren was making video blogs when he first got sick, hoping to figure out what was wrong with him. He had so many people in his same situation all discussing natural remedies, supplements, cleanses etc.
They all tried things together. A doctor found Ren's blogs and offered him the stem cell transplant $25, 000 for free. The deal was Ren had to document his progress.
The stem cell saved him from the brink of death. He had other symptoms get worse but it still saved his life.
This was a short and super condensed version of what he went through. He tells it all in his "Chapters 1-8" he reads each section telling what happened.
Keeping his promise to the doctor and the chronic illness community. Sorry about your mom, how heart breaking. 😢

Just a warning that if you go watch the Chapters it will probably trigger bad memories for you. You’ll be able to relate a lot of your mom’s story as well as your own. I’ve been dealing with it myself since age 20 & I’m in my late 50s now. I understood your mom more than you’ll know. Thank you for sharing it. 💜

Hi Man. No one thinks you were hogging the video. Ren makes music specifically to get people to have open conversations. It’s only with more discussion and demands to the medical professionals and with governments. It’s a brilliant song. Well done.

ABSOLUTELY NOT HIJACKING ! And NEVER apologize for showing your emotions. I think that you are experiencing what so so many of us drew us into Hi Ren. He made so many of us feel seen, heard, and understood- often for the first time. The comment section is full of people telling their stories or the stories of someone they love , perhaps even lost.
His mental health steadily declined as his symptoms either worsened and/ or were added to.
For the week leading up to the release of “ Troubles” he put out The Chapters ( 1-8) on YT @ RenMakesStuff . It’s a chronicle of his journey, all the different treatments he tried, the research he did, as well as very personal stories about how much his illness cost him- in terms of relationships etc. It’s very emotional and raw and took a great deal of courage to put it all out there. As such, it’s really not for reacting to but ,as he stated in the end,he hopes that it makes people who are living with similar struggles don’t feel like they’re so alone. He’s described pain as condescending and sophisticated, and it is both.
His video on Defining Success ( when he hit 1M subscribers) IS WHO REN IS, AS A HUMAN BEING. ❤

I'm heartbroken for you listening how much your Mom suffered. 💔
Ren's 7 Sins explains his pain filled journey and is very impactful.
If you choose to watch it be aware it's very heavy.
As others have/will mention Ren preceded this release with 8 chapters of his journey ending each with a relevant track.
Stay strong with the knowledge that there is a huge community of people who understand and support you 🤗🙏

7 sins is one of his best songs imo never heard someone able to describe pain the way he does in that. Just for some context @lvme it’s written from the moment he enter psychosis so a lot of it is things he did and say while in that episode.

Phil's wife Susan here. This is the best reaction I have seen of Ren's song #Troubles because you really get it. I have had ME/CFS since 1981, life is hard because in lots of ways I have been medically neglected. In Australia we have outdated guidelines for ME/CFS that are based on flawed science which influence our medical professionals to ignore our symptoms. I have been crying my eyes out while watching your reaction because I am also a Mum. Having an energy limiting chronic illness (#ELCI) negatively impacts my children. An energy impairment is difficult for people around you to understand. I am like a phone that is broken which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't and if I am not careful with how it is used could break completely. Thank you for posting this video and being vulnerable. I think the tears were cathartic, hearing you talk about your Mum helped me feel seen. You are right about there being so much more suffering out there. So many are housebound, bedridden and dying from these illnesses.

hello dear!! thanks for your sincere reaction. i also am ren's medical little sister, fibromyalgia!! i so appreciated your thoughts about your mum, cuz this ish is real, i'm 72yo and live there. thank you for sharing your familial pain, cuz you're helping us all by sharing the truth like ren does. the opiod crisis has been a life cruncher to me. i was literally told i had to choose between being treated for pain or crazy, my choice. i had to choose pain, so i'm "still crazy after alll these years"-lol and just to prove i'm a cranky old lady, i want to point out that if people want to get stem cell surgery in the usa, they have to leave the country. bcuz our world of health care is "brought to you by your friends at ph!ser" sorry this is so long, but i don't get to talk to someone like you who gets it. you are a good son. i gotta go and smoke my pain pipe, too!! after 40yrs of pain clinics with naxi leanings, i left opiods (sigh, methadone works on pains so cleanly), i am that old lady who sits in a rocking chair on a mountian side smokin' and smiling (in my dreams) kathleen 🙃

I loved this reaction.🥰 I think the purpose of Ren's music is supposed to be related to by people. I'm so sorry about your mom's suffering. Thank you for sharing your pain. Ren got clearance to use the sample the same way Mobi did. The original was Vera Hall's 1937 Trouble So Hard. It has a lot of meaning for him. Ren put out a 8 chapter video essay leading up to the release of this song that was raw and unfiltered. You could see how difficult it was for him to put the details of his life out there. It's to share his story with others, to help others. It's on his other channel renmakesstuff if you want to watch them. It's inspiring.

Okay, you made me cry! My son didn't go to college as planned, I got really sick with also a myriad of immune system malfunctions and he worked as much as he could to support us. I have been through so much, but here I am. My son is 29 now, 10 years later, and I am 63, 10 years later, still sick but still trying. I currently live on my own, was able to return to work but decided to retire early so can enjoy what is left of my life. My son? Well he lives down the road with his girlfriend. He still keeps a close eye on me ;) I miss my mom too as she went before we expected and it has been 6 years, sorry but some things like that we just have to learn to live with.

I appreciate how Ren's basic motive (he said something like this in his 1 Million Subscribers video) is to foster a sense of empathy and compassion for those who are suffering. REN- TROUBLES
    [Intro: Vera Hall]
    Ooh Lordy, troubles so hard
    Repeating
    [Verse]
I don't reach into the past very much
For these shards of shattered glass and harsh paper cuts
Leave me stuck when I reach in memories are seeped in hydrochloric acid
I go to war and get passive and freeze up
But music helped the ice to thaw
Put a chisel in the middle swing the hammer of Thor
Pull it out of the impossible, excalibur sword
Etching note pads full of reasons why my feelings arе sore
The first day that I got sick ejеcted from cockpit of living
Nineteen, young teen, waking up bitten
Posters up, manhunt, Ren went missing
Hard to have faith when the gods don't listen
The first year maybe was the hardest
Waking in a body that was buried like a carcass
Brain in the lions den, body in a shark pit
Waking up in pain again, aching, brokenhearted
Persistent little bugger I was bouncing from a doctor
To a doctor to a doctor like a table tennis game that has no end
So be the fate of Ren
Every single question answered with a question on the end
The second year I came to terms with giving up my dreams
Mind was severed from the means that helped me write these rhyme schemes
Brain was inflamed. the fatigue was crushing
Hard to remain sane with your brain combusting
And the third year was murder, living in a purga-
Tory full of worry, wouldn't live to be thirty
Lifestyle hurt me, always in my bed tomb
Re-arrange the alphabet and all the letters spell "doom"
Light hurt my eyes, popping pills to survive
When you're twenty-three and mentally you steadily decline
Twenty-four I was poor, disability benefits
What's the benefit of disability? It's irrelevant
Twenty-five and the scars that were etched, they cracked
Elastic bands only stretch so far and then snap
Deep in psychosis, hallucinations, troubled vision
Visits from the underworld were conjuring my superstition
Twenty-five, living back at home with my mum
But not because I'm a bum, alone and physically done
So thin, so frail, so weak I'd become
And my skin so pale, never kissed by the Sun
One time I carved a whole in my chest, just to feel
I wish that was a metaphor, the struggle was real
When you're living in a holocaust you buckle and kneel
There's relief in the teeth of the kiss of cold steel
Facts, twenty-six I'm highly medicated and the pain sophisticated
While I'm laying broke and naked on my back
I brought my microphone into my coffin, started droppin'
Raw thoughts with the grim reaper knocking on the track
    Then man, lo and behold
I heard an angel beckon on this treacherous road
Was a stem cell doctor with a generous glow
And a cell transplant brought me out of the cold
And my skin got younger and my body got stronger
And my stomach felt hunger for a door that was closed
And my soul heard music for the first time
Beauty was a word I'd use for this gift of gold
Oh Lord, I forgive you, Lord I forgive you
Lord, I forgive you, make me whole
This music I give you, pain that I live through
Everything I've been through is yours to hold

Dear lord, that was a pure genuine heartfelt reaction that I totally get. You did an absolutely tremendous job taking us through this video of struggles and beauty. I totally get the struggles you have gone through yourself. In the last two and a half years I have lost my mother my father and just most recently my fiance who wanted to try and make it to the eclipse up here in the Northeast during April. Unfortunately she passed in March. She would get So much hope listening to Ren. It just seems that Ren is putting the medical industry on notice. I just wish I had the platform that he has now to bring light to all of these conditions that seem to be brushed aside. I believe though, that all of these stories that we all can share, can make an impact for a lot of people in the near future. Thanks to you and thanks to Ren. Amen!

Its like having salt rubbed into the wounds when people are sceptical
    So sorry about you Mum

There's nothing to apologize for. Life is hard to bear sometimes. And Rens songs hit you very deeply.
My wife is suffering from M.E. for nine years now. I know what it feels like to be left alone, even by people you should be able to trust in. And how hard it is to keep up hope. Much love and big hugs to you man. ❤🫂
As others already said, Ren did a kind of autobiographical reading on his RenMakesStuff channel. From the end of his friend Joe over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and attempts of treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Very personal and emotional videos.
Even if you thought you understood Ren's songs beforehand, you understand them even better afterwards and they become even more intense.

I'm a bit late, but your heartfelt & very real reaction really got me - I kept wanting to tell you that you have nothing to apologize for! Thank you for your bravery - sharing our stories is so hard, but like you said about Ren, we need to get the word out. You telling your experiences with your dear Mother (may she rest with no more pain) may reach someone who needs to hear it.
I was just diagnosed with MCAS last year...after 7+ years of being misdiagnosed, ignored, not being believed...I'm sure you know how that goes.
More understanding in the world is imperative, and thank you for contributing to that in such a beautiful & powerful way. Had to subscribe ❤

Thank you for really getting it!! I personally think that you’re understanding what Ren’s trying to get across about fatigue being severe etc., these diseases being incredibly serious but stigmatized/ misunderstood. He’s advocating and hoping for this exact type of discussion. I know he’s spent a lot of his limited time/energy trying to help people in the ME community and the logo “Missing” on his profile photo is for the ME awareness campaign “Millions Missing”. Because there are very literally millions missing from their lives. Many do get sick pretty young (children/teens are more rare but twenties are not) when it comes to ME at least.
Many people think we’re faking it. Exactly. Insult to injury doesn’t begin to describe the suffering that this causes. You’re honouring your mom and all of us stuck living as shells of our former selves by explaining this to people so clearly. Thank you 🙏

Gut wrenching reaction, man. I’ve watched multiple reactions to this song. I fricken love Ren for putting his story out there and bringing awareness to these things. He’s truly a special human being. My heart goes out to you my friend. I teared up right along with you. I just lost my godmother (my aunt) a week ago, so I can empathize with your loss. May I suggest checking out Rens “Back on 74/Message in a bottle” retake, for something much more lighthearted. The Back on 74 is a retake of a song by Jungle, which came out just a few years ago, and Message in a Bottle, which is a retake from The Police (Sting). It’s a fun track that highlights Rens versatility. Even has a rap portion in it that Ren added (not on either of the tracks he’s doing the retake of). It’s really good and has a great vibe. Be well, catch ya on the next one. ✊🏻

@TheLVME I know exactly what Ren went through I have been in severe pain for the last 1O years and have traveled thousands of kilometers hopping from specialist to specialist and still no proper diagnosis, now going for my third operation, lucky for me I live in France and they have me on morphine.
I have been bedridden for the last 7 months due to the previous botched operation, so as you said when you know you know, was also treated like a junkie and that it was all in my head by certain people, thank you Ren, for highlighting this constant fight, but my hopes for a cure are fading fast, a great reaction by the way, and sorry for your loss😪

Sorry to hear about your Mom bro. So glad REN made it out because without that free offer to REN for the stem cells he would probably still be in the thick of the struggle. REN says it himself that stem cells is science on the edge of working or not working but for him it worked enough to get his mind back out of some of the mess it was in. It is sad we don’t yet have a better understanding of what these ailments are. Loved the reaction and thank you for putting it out there. I hope it goes even bigger. ❤

My mom suffered from chronic back pain from multiple discs degenerating, etc. She, of course, got scipts for Oxy and slipped easily into opioid addiction. We lost her for years to her abuse of the pills. She was, vacant, was the best way to describe her. We had to move her to assisted living to monitor her pill intake. It took months for the clouds to lift and she was finally coming back to who she had always been when she passed from an unrelated issue. My cousin's wife was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in the early 90s and was one of the ones that you mentioned who weren't taken seriously. She ultimately took action on herself and is gone today, leaving behind a husband and a teenage daughter. Tragedy walks hand in hand with these conditions.

My older brother has Parkinson’s disease at age of 58 and my younger brother 51 had Juvenile arthritis since he was 5 hrs old and now has stills disease (an autoimmune disorder) from it since he was 21 and my mom has fibromyalgia. It’s sometimes scary to think about what awaits me . Just feel blessed but also a since of guilt at the same time . At least I am ok to help take care of them when they need me . You’ve got my sub. Thank you for sharing your story. I am so sorry about your mother. It must have been horrific watching her go through all that. I have a severe form of fibromyalgia, which I developed in my early 30s. Sadly, that was over 20 years ago. I had to eventually move back in with my folks once I had to apply for disability because it took 3 years, without a paycheck, to get approved. Then, my “benefits,” was no where near enough to live on. The worst part was something you talked about. People, including my doctors at the time, didn’t believe in fibromyalgia. My family, who I’m thankful for every day (I’d be living on the streets without them), but they struggled to understand and believe me, too. I have been on opiates for 15 years and have seen how the anti-drug policies affect those of us on these meds for legitimate reasons. You can’t fill these prescriptions more than 2 days early and pharmacies only can order a certain amount each month, so they often run out. Taking over a week to fill often and causing me to have to take half doses just to try to build up a buffer. But I have run out and been forced into painful detoxes. And no, I don’t get high on them, they just make it so I can manage the pain and at least do some things. It is hard looking forward, because I don’t have much hope that things are gonna change for me medically. My parents are now getting older and have their own issues. I am now in the position of trying to do whatever I can to help them, but I’m still so limited that I get filled with guilt when I can’t. Thank goodness for REN’s music and all the conversation it inspires! Please watch his 1 mil subscriber video. It will give you a good feel for what Ren is about.

First of all my brother I'm so very sorry for your loss💔, may her soul be at peace now. Take a little solace; like I do, that Ren is out here fighting the good fight, so that fewer of us will suffer like that in the future.🙏🙏FYI bro, this track is nothing like Moby's version on the Natural Blues Album from 1999, I should know I've got the album at home 😜and when I'm in the mood I give that vinyl a spin every once in a while.
In fact Ren purchased the rights to use the exact sample that Moby used, Vera Hall, Trouble So Hard 1937. Ren personally mixed this track on his own from top to bottom adding the guitar licks, percussion and strings as well as all the synths and distortions by altering the sample itself. The actual sample by Vera Hall has no instrumental whatsoever. You can pull it up the original Vera Hall sample on UA-cam and take a listen for yourself. Ren has a short on his channel that shows himself producing parts of this track and what methods he used to get certain sounds.🔥🔥🔥✌

Hey bro, sorry to bring up rap beef on this reaction cos fr this is an amazing message from Ren, but this the most recent place I have to reach you.
Just want to let you know Knox is currently in a diss battle with Scru Face Jean - real beef pushing 10 years is finally coming to wax and they both dropped 3 tracks in 2 days.
If you choose not to cover more beef I respect it, but they got legit issues to address with eachother and Scru is easily the best opponent Knox has had to date when it comes to rapping skill.
Two UA-cam titans are at war. Knox' round 3 is a 7 minute napalm strike that makes Clout Cobain look like a friendly jab...

Scru - The Heart Part 6 Remix

    First, your reaction was inspired.
Second, this is actually a sample of Vera Hall's 'Troubles So Hard', but as Moby (like the bastard he is) had full copyrights on the song, Ren paid in full simply to have access to the original, which was a song that meant so very much to him. (There's a clip of him singing it which went viral)
Third, You absolutely have to watch the Chapters prior to this release..it will do your heart good as so much of what you are describing is shared in Ren's story.
They're located on his second channel @RenMakesStuff. There's 8 Chapters in total.
Fourth, as you have no super chats, nor PayPal, I've gone and purchased one of your stickers in an effort to persuade you to start with Chapter One. Whether or not you post your reaction means naught to me, just simply for your benefit (although I truly do think if you did post them, it would help a lot of people and spread the message).
No worries either way, I'm just glad this song was relatable to you, and thank you for your honesty with us, and more importantly, for always being an advocate and a source of much needed love and compassion for your mom. My Daddy and I shared a similar story, and I'm glad I was there through everything, no matter how painful, and I miss his beautiful love everyday. ×͜× જ⁀➴ -ˋˏ🌈ᥫ᭡
