This could have been a perfect opportunity to use some African American actors, since it was they who made the majority of the Red Ball Express truckers in WW2. Too bad; it would have been an interesting dynamic.

" PEOPLE OF COLOUR "" as was the old fashioned polite term had a hard time if you look at authobiographies of famous Afro and Asian Amercans, even Hispano- Americans had a hard time to swallow back then. And even nowdays some folks still think with movies in racist terms as the commentatores of AFTERBUZZ TV. Some of the low remarks there about South Europeans there were an absolute low point in modern commentaries.
The classic Combat! irrigation ditch makes another appearance. That ditch & that town with the little bridge in it are Combat! Cuz usually it's some woods or a road or some other terrain until you see the ditch & the town.

Not an irrigation ditch. It's a storm ditch. The season is obviously summer. If it were irrigation it would be full of water in the summer.
