Anyone who says Emmitt was average with a great O line didn't watch many games. His yards after contact was phenominal and he was a great reciever in the open field. Was the difference in so many of their games back then.
Longtime cowboy fan since I can remember and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I miss Madden… To me he is football and the early 90s campaign he was cowboy playoff football …
The Cowboys were just a different team come playoff time. After the nearly losing 3 straight games they got new life when the 49ers lost to the Falcons in the last week and the Cowboys beat the Cardinals to get homefield advantage. The Cowboys were a new team and it showed. Rodney Peete going out with injury was huge and with Randall essentially not getting any practice because the birth of his child. This was his last game for the Eagles.
the sounds of texas stadium...😪 miss the trumpeteres... before each offensive play and after first downs... charge!!! wtf jerry..🤬 and the classic stadium play by play announcer with that deep god like voice.. reminds me of the lakers guy..
With ADS? Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise, as a Cowboys fan, it pains me to think this was the last divisional win. Eagles were a different team with Randall...Man I hated playing them with him at the helm. Dude was one of the original cheat codes. cheers.
Amazing how a painful late season loss to a bitter rival can be just the tonic for revenge in the playoffs. In 1980, Dallas was routed by the Rams on MNF 38-14 late in the year, but it must have lit a fire of anger in Big D, as the Cowboys curb stomped LA 34-13 in the playoffs. The loss in Philly with those nightmare third and fourth down calls was just the enema Dallas needed to do its business against the same team in the post season.
Rest In Peace John. I wish you and Pat were around and could broadcast the Eagles if by some strange way they make the playoffs here in 2021. God Bless.
Michael Irvin = one of the best, if not the best ever, possession receivers. And Bobby Taylor did an amazing job covering MI all day. Until the end. Aikman threw a brilliant and sublime pass, over Irvin's outside shoulder, and to the sideline. This is where nobody (AND I MEAN NOBODY) could get to the pass except Michael Irvin. Taylor just did the same thing he did all day - he played PERFECT coverage. But Perfect offense beats perfect defense, in EVERY league.
@@rkid727 Sounds like a nice father/son bonding experience. But yeah I lived in the Fort Worth area for several years. People where I live think I’m crazy when I tell them that it not only gets very cold in Texas, every so often an ice storm will occur. They just automatically assume it’s hot and dry all year long.
It was even more of a butt kicking than the score shows... At 17:30, this is clear pass interference with Bobby Taylor not facing the ball and making contact before the ball comes...
What was gratifying about the Cowboys' 1995 playoff run was revenge victories over the Eagles (NFC Title Game, 1980), the Packers (NFL Title games, 1966 and 1967) and the Steelers (SB's X and XIII). A nice feeling to settle some old scores, like relief from constipation.
Niners fan here. Definitely spot on about the "settle some old scores, like relief from constipation". We've had a few games between us since 1970 that were like that.
As a GB fan, the ‘95 loss hurt the most. We were winning into the 4th quarter, then a couple now illegal chop blocks (one ended Jon Jurkovic’s career) and suddenly we’re out. Wish Dallas beat Carolina in ‘96 so we could’ve crushed them at Lambeau :) Now GB faces Dallas in the wild card in Dallas - it’ll be fun. I’ve grown to respect Dallas and respect the rivalry
Still has not set in that Larry Allen is gone. He is my age. He is a good man, always was. True family man. Was a privilege to see this man in person and play.
In the 70’s and the 90’s all teams feared the Cowboys come playoff time. Now Jerry destroyed that aura we had . Big bubble head Jerry thanks for nothing!!!!
As an eagles fan, when Pete got knocked out I knew it was over. But I always wondered if he didn’t get injured would have been different but I doubt it
Back when you had an actual football crowd that was loud, instead of the wine and cheese crowd.. Plus the new stadium is too big and open, so it's doesn't sound loud.. Though Jerry wanted to build an entertainment stadium and not a stadium for football.
23:20 Peete tries to run through Woodson and pays the price. This play always summed up the Dallas D of the 90s for me. Tough, fast, physical and clutch in the post season.
its wild to think as a Cowboys fan, this is the last time they were actually relevant with a deep playoff run. it is insane the brand the Cowboys are and Jerry has held them back. free us fans, please
Was this, or the 1992 playoff game against the Eagles, the one where Michael Irvin was lighting up Eric McMillan (green jersey, 5'10") on the field, then taunting him from the sideline saying "Get back on your Lucky Charms box!"
-The last time the Cowboys won a Divisional Round game -The last Eagles game before their current logo was established -The first and so far only game to date with a 30-11 final score
Have faith. They have a lot of good players . Just have to take it to next level. Get tough mentally when it really counts. Hope these coaches can do it
They listed Aikman as 7-1 as a playoff starter. The Aikman Era Cowboys lost to the Detroit Lions in the 1991 Divisional Round and the 49ers in the 1994 Championship Game. In the Lions game, Aikman was 11-for-16 with 114 yards and Beuerlein was 7-for-13 with 91 yards. I can't remember -- did Beuerlein start that game?
This is when we actually had home field advantage and a hostile environment, it was extremely rare to see any opposing team fans. Texas Stadium was one of a kind. Now at Jerry World we hardly have this kind of hostile environment and sometimes we’ll see it split down the middle 50/50 Cowboys to opposing team fans. An absolute freaking joke!

Cowboys have always owned the eagles and still do. Most division titles and most superbowls in the division. Eagles got a losing culture, 1 sb since the 60s when sb era started.,
Jerry can't build a defense, we've had good ones around the turn of the century #1 D in 04 or 05. We could never put a complete team on the field, we could never stop the run, look up the rams game in 2018.. almost 300 yards, half from a dude that was on the street that the rams smashed down our throat. Jerry will never learn how to be a GM especially in this modern NFL. His time was never there, but it's definitely time to fire the right guy and man up before you die. That's the only way JJ sees another ring imo. Needed Jimmy all these years!

Pat Summerall was quite error prone.
John Madden was great but Pat Summerall didn't perform well when the moment needed him to. He didn't show enough emotion.

Pat Summerall & John Madden simply the best!!!
Here for some positive memories of my team. When we played with grit and fire and could defend our home field.
That offensive line of Dallas back then was HUGE. I have never seen a line that dominated like Dallas did since. Not even close.
Try watching The S. Louis Cardinals in the mid 70s. They were one of the biggest and best ever--however players at that time weren't 6'4 300LB then.
