Thank you for this great analysis. Just one other thought I would point out, another interpretation of her character could be that after loosing Polonious and descending into madness she finally found her voice as a woman, and autonomy. She is the only courtier brave enough to figuratively 'speak out' against the corruption at Elsinore, the flowers she hands to each character having meanings with obvious inferences. Her suicide can be interpreted as a final act of defiance (an 'f u' to all who wronged her and neglected her) , in a world where women had the power to do little else.
I can't share them because of copyrights (I bought them) but I literally said everything in the video. You can note it all down and use it as you please! My apologies.
My "imaginary friend" let me searched this up..she told me the exact story and how she died,And i swear to god I'ved Never heard of this film before, before my friend told me story I asked her what's her name but it took seconds and she said "Magdalen" and then said "Ophelia" and I asked what's Ophelia and she said it's her name,so I assume it's both her name I asked if I could call her "Oli" and didn't heard a response,so I assume it's a yes ,when we talk sometimes I don't hear her response.. when she told me the story ,I was the character and I remembered looking out of a window/terrace and saw my husband outside ...i was force to marry the guy and he was manipulative etc.. and then my dad won't listen to what I have to say etc.. and I had enough of it and drowned myself wearing a fancy old time dress like the ones from Europe.. it's like the ones that Anna from frozen use to wear but It's darker and is giving old European princess/queen vibes..am I crazy for knowing a film from my "imaginary friend" and I don't know what does this means... Is my "imaginary friend" an old spirit and wants me to know something about a film that happened in the past/she can relate? Or maybe that was my past life.. I don't really know what it means, but anyways I'm gonna continue watching 0:51
It helped a lot but just a suggestion, it'd be perfect if you speak a little bit slower for foreigners bc sometimes ur words fly away withput understanding it.
I love Ophelia she is such a complex creature it's a dream role
I agree! 100%

Thank you!
then why was she singing songs and strewing flowers?
honestly loved this, an amazing summary for Ophelia with insightful opinions
Thanks a million!
The guy I'm inlove with compared me to ophelia and it's our love story in a nut shell except death and such
Is that because you prioritise your father and brother over the guy you're in love with?
Consider whether this is the love story you want.
Thank you! This is very helpful for me..I'm playing ophelia in mock trial
Happy to have helped!
Oophelia is a good, innocent character. She is a misfit in her circumstances. She associates herself with Hamlet who is himself mentally unstable.
Hi I really love these videos so much, are you going to do Horatio?
I'll very soon! I am glad you love them!
Hey love the video, any chance you could link a copy of the notes :)
I can't share them because of copyrights (I bought them) but I literally said everything in the video. You can note it all down and use it as you please! My apologies.
You said at the end that Ophelia was the only character that was purely innocent, what about Horratio?
I'll do a video on Horatio very soon!
