what it is: mucle memory. In fact they dont even know the beats they are playign they just know the pattern to play it in and it takes no more then 2-3 weeks to get this right.
As a percussionist, no. Just no.
It takes years to build the technique to play like that. Every one of those kids went through minimum of 6 weeks of 8 hours days through the summer to get skilled enough to play that. Its not just picking up a stick and memorizing the notes. Its internal rythem, playing and roll technique, proper transitioning, and wrist strength. This also isn't the only thing they play Its just a side show for fun at football games/pep rallies. The main focus is the actual marching show that they perform at half time.
Most of them also are extremely talented, making it look far easier than it is.
Every school has a kid that does this

I know that it looks impressive but being a musician myself when you get your muscle memory down its kinda like typing where you don’t need to look at your letters to hit the right one this works the same way with almost every instrument which includes drums thats why its not to uncommon to see guitarists play with the guitar behind there head the only difference to the way you play is that its behind your head when your good at a instrument you don’t have to look at it however i’m not saying that he isn’t good at drums what I’m saying is that doing it blindfolded is not as hard as it sounds
Exept that when you pley behind you head, the finger placement is different.
After playing the national anthem a hundred or so times, anything that sounds remotely like national anthem will make your fingers twitch

All but the last one Jig 2 and with 10 min of practice most percussionists should be able to do as they did and most band kids in about an hour

it’s not that hard to do it blindfolded i’d actually argue it’s easier it’s just muscle memory
exactly its like typing on a keyboard.
It’s quite simple but ok just get used to the drum and i could do it in a day (I am in marching band)
