Beautiful explanantion! 👏 One point: in 6:42, each square actually represents 0,5h (instead of 1h, as you said), giving us 24 square, with a total registering time of 12hours. Also, I've a question: in primiparous women, the active phase of the 1st stage of labor should last no longer than 6hours right?
Welcome, the length of labor generally varies and more so in primiparous women it is much faster, The assumption in primiparous women commonly is that their cervix dilates roughly at a rate of 1.2cm/h (should not be less than 1cm/hr) so that is roughly a range of 5 to 7 hours.. so 6 hours is an average
Splendid. You nailed it 🤝and I do really love the way you handle the lecture plus the slides are well designed too. Exceptional and highly resourceful ❤❤❤ From Liberia 🇱🇷
Thanks daktari for the very informative lecture am a PhD midwifery student kindly clarify about the duration and the strenth of the contraction you talked about the representation of the duration but you did not talk about the strenth.
Hey glad I could help, for the contractions often duration and intensity are considered proportional to some extent, the mild ones (which you shade with dots) are less than 20seconds, the moderate which you shade with stripes are about 20-40 seconds and the strong (which you shade completely black) are more than 40 seconds
