    You mentioned that you planned all of this when you were 16, and thank god I am not crazy. I'm a highschooler checking to see if Sheridan is a good college to go to (although might be slow since I haven't touched animation or most things at all), I realized I never really considered how student life and all that is, I guess I was just excited for the experience, not how the people acted.
    It might not be good since I live in the US and don't know if its a good choice, but it is definitely apparently cheaper compared to Calarts or UCLA. I'm not really planning, just laying out my choices. I hope to get in once I get to plan out my college and future. Animation is my favourite and I love to story tell.

    This is such thorough and helpful advice! Been drawn to Sheridan since I read up on them, but I’m in my late 20’s and would be an international student as well (USA). A little worried I started pursuing art and animation too late, and questioning if moving to another country/taking out loans to go is the right choice. It was nice to listen to you talk practically about your experience! 😊

      hi, I just saw this! while Seneca and Algonquin are cheaper/less competitive, idk if they give you degrees, which you need for a PGWP. as an international, I couldn't apply to Seneca because it only offers a diploma (which means I won't be able to work in Canada after graduation, which is ultimately what I want). I've heard good things about Rubica, too, but again, I'm not sure because idk your specific needs.

    Hey! Thanks for the info, it’s all really useful, i was wondering how the process worked though (i tried looking at the website but didn’t find the info😅): when do the specific requirements for the portfolio appear on the website? How should you send them? What else do you have to send other than your portfolio? How much time do you have from the requirements being posted and you having to send it? When do they tell you if you’ve been accepted?
    Sorry if it’s a lot but i want to know both to look at the right time and to learn how to maximize my time. (Also as an Italian whose final grades also come in June, do you have any advise to avoid too much trouble like you described?)

    Hi... I'm gonna go for college next year..... I wanna do animations.. but I picked this interest pretty recently..... Let me tell u everything about my situation cause i really REALLY need help...i don't think I'm that good in drawing yet... I'm studying in cbse... Which means i really have to focus in my 12th grade... And also given the present situation I can't go for physical classes for drawing or anything..... My school ends around the end of February and start of March... And the fall semester or most colleges start October.... So that gives me something around 5 to 6 months.... If i go for classes during that time and learn would i be able to come out with a good portfolio in time for submitting my application ? And what classes should I take exactly? Is there any suggestions or solutions anyone can give cause i don't know what to do and I'm freaking out..... Please help me... Give me whatever advice and tips u have..... Should i just take a gap year or something ?

      Hi, how are you? I'll give you a suggestion. I also haven't finished high school yet, but when I finish, I will spend a year studying and focusing on my portfolio to be able to apply to the colleges I want! I would suggest that you, after finishing school, spend some time studying, and instead of applying to college in the same year you graduated from high school, you could apply the following year. I'm sure that by doing this you will be better at drawing, more mature, and more determined about what you want. One more year makes no difference at the end!!! Hope this helpes, and good luckk!!

    • @ggoodd32503
      @ggoodd32503 2 роки тому +1

      @Mohit Malik Sort of but in the states a college of the same major with less opportunities opened up opportunities be precisely $50,000 for a single year (not including housing) and the scholarships you can get would only cut it down to 30,000 maybe (assuming you do a lot of scholarships). It would be the same price for more opportunities. Plus the best animation colleges in America are mainly in California, which has a much much higher cost of living than the location of Sheridan. And on a student visa you still receive free healthcare while in America you still pay healthcare as well.

    • @ggoodd32503
      @ggoodd32503 2 роки тому

      @Mohit Malik Oh, then yeah if you have good options around you, you should definitely take those. I think Sheridan is mainly popular for opening options for Canadians and Americans who don't have better options.
      If you still do want to try international, you could try checking out Gobelins in France, but an option near you is typically ideal
