The WX300 is the only new compact zoom at the moment. We will have to wait and see if Sony updates the line directly.

I think the HX200V is the better value and overall performer. I only would suggest the HX300 to those who must have 50X.

I use this camera primarily for video...and the video is SHARP, 60fps allows me to edit the video with slo-mo etc. Has anyone else had an issue with slow focusing?

Would like to see someone compare each at its maximum zoom of the same subject maybe 300-400 feet away. 100% crops should show if the added zoom is worth the $500 upgrade from the HX200V which I have.

how will the new one compare to the Panasonic fz200 with the constant aperture of 2.8?
New HX300 will have 50x zoom but at a much smaller aperture - I am really afraid that at F6.3 at 50x it will be very hard to stabilize - Pani fz200 at 25x soom - so a matter of the extra zoom vs brighter lens at 2.8 constant - I know it has some new IS but will it match the F2.8 ??

Ashwini Kumar FZ200 if you want the fastest lens on a Bridge Camera (I would wait a little bit as the FZ300 is dropping now so the 200 will get cheaper until stocks run out) I did have the FZ72 and while it was nice camera and well built, the images had a lot of noise and the fixed screen prevents some low angel shots. If you want the best image quality your have to consider a CSC or DSLR.

one thing that none of these geniuses talking about IS THE AUDIO , which is great for such a price , i shoot my drum practice and UPLOAD it on my apple iMac and i,m so happy for the quality of the sound I EVEN UPLOAD A FEW ON MY YOU TUBE ..AGIAN I MUST EMPHASIZE , THE PRICE .. VS performance this is a incredible one , the pictures are not really 20.1 MP especially if it taken indoors , but if its outdoor its very good , plus that EASY function dose a lot for beginners
and it is sad that no where in the reviews H200 is not even exist . of course needless to say it is way out dated but i must say the zoom is great on my H200 too . it dose not have internal battery , it takes 4 AA battery which should not consider a down side just get SONY 4 pack rechargeable batteries with the charger for $20.00 at FRY,S

The HX300 has replaced the HX200. FACT !!
