Malvar should be recognized as the third president because Aguinaldo is the 2nd president by succeeding Bonifacio who is the real 1st president. The Supremo has declared independence at the Cry of Pugad Lawin. He did not adopt Filipinas as the republic name because it was given by the Spaniards.

To be honest, Aguinaldo sold. First, he’s the main reason that Bonifacio died. He sold us during the PH-US War with the order of killing Gen. Luna, wasn’t tactical enough during the Battle of the Tirad Pass which led to Gen. Del Pilar’s death, then surrendered 2 yrs after the PH-US War started. So he basically gave the US the upper hand after the death of Luna. So I think he’s the 2nd or 3rd worst President but I will give him slack since he’s the first. Of course he can’t be first worst one, that goes to Marcos :)

That is actually a falsehood. There are two fundamental problems with that claim. Ola had already surrendered initially as part of General Belarmino's command in July 1901. His surrender is in the US War Department Records. He was listed as a Major. While he did return to the hills after his conflict with a local mayor who burned his house down, he was not a general. He claimed that he was promoted to General by Malvar. That was never substantiated by any appointment papers. In Malvar's reports on record on the state of his command (example Dec. 1901) of which the US War Department has files, Ola's name does not appear in all those under Malvar's command. Colonels and Generals make up that list. If Ola were really a general as he claimed, he would be on that list. This is not to discredit his role in history.
