A world divided into American, Russian and Chinese spheres of influence is a deeply chilling thought given that’s the exact makeup of the world in the novel 1984.
I don't see China as a threat in the way Russia once was. US still dominates in terms of military bases and basically still in control of the world's money has the biggest corporations controls the world media ...China is far, far behind An thats without even mentioning the EU which is never gona be china's ally is it It's still a unipolar world.

Keir represents Biden's first term in office and with Reform looking to gear up with Elon (just like Trump collaborated with Elon), we could very well be welcoming our own Trump second term at the next general election
I think a full rebrand is required. I heard that they're changing his name to X and then every news channel and podcast have to unnecessarily call him "X (formerly known as Donald Trump)" rather than just call him one of those names. Seriously it boils my piss they still do this!

Trump's life is guided by two things: the need to be adored, and the need to be comfortable. So the inauguration issue is about this: what's more important, him seeing thousands of adoring fans or him not being cold? I think what gives it away are the billionaires: he got to be adored by the people he really cares about while also being comfortable. So all this shows is that he doesn't really care about the bulk of his supporters.
When the 3 Israeli hostages were freed, David Mencer (the Israeli Government Spokesman for the National Public Diplomacy Directorate in the Office of the Prime Minister) repeatedly referred to them on TV as the three 'girls' even though they are 24, 28, and 31 years old, respectively. This word choice cannot be causal.

My biggest concern is how we are going to survive all these financial and political crises, especially the power struggle in the US. The government has really made things difficult for its citizens, and we can not just sit by and suffer the consequences of bad governance🙏
Today, I'm kicking myself for not investing in cryptocurrency. I've been scared because of my lack of regulation in the cryptocurrency market. Please, is there a way I can start now???
As a beginner, it's essential for you to have a mentor to keep you accountable. Myself, l'm guided by Emily Sharon Louis. For years, I highly recommend her and focus on her. To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finances, but I'm so glad I did. Don't listen to skeptics; they're just mad they didn't get in early enough...
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. Cryptocurrency is not a fad. It's a revolution, and the future of money is digital. Investing in cryptocurrency is like investing in the early days of the internet. Crypto is the most important invention in the history of the world since the internet.
One thing about Palestine is that a majority of Palestinians - not just Hamas - are not ready to accept the existence of Israel. Opinion seems to have shifted a bit in the aftermath of the current war but not much. Dfficult not to despair.
I wonder where you got that from and whether that has anything to do with the apartheid conditions that Israel are forcing Palestinians to live in, even before October 7th or the Genocide that they have committed since. Israel is the occupier here, so that should be the focus. Maybe if their mentality changed from being a settler colonial into admitting that there are other people living on the same land who deserve the same rights then the opinions would change, but do not acceptance when they remain the occupier with the power to enforce it

Question for you guys with some sense of European history: Watching Trump for the past two years I’d been really thinking he was borrowing from German National Socialism rhetoric from 1930-33. The 2020 election “steal” was the “1918 stabbed in the back” libel. Southern border “invasions” were the “Jewish and Asiatic hoards” invasions from within and from the East commonly heard from Nazis. Nazis were hyper-focused on “tradition” “patriarchal authority” racial purity, fixed gender roles and of course being the leading bulwark against communism. But Hitler was also focused on Lebensraum, territorial self-sufficiency and creating a continental empire in the East that would rival England and France. Well…the USA already has an empire. What would we do? LOL…Invade Poland? Well guess what? Trump now DOES want territorial expansion into Panama, Greenland, Mexico and even Canada! Who is going to stop him?
My country neighbours with and was annexed by Germany, and I've been getting these vibes from Trump since 2016. I wasn't sure the first couple of years, but my conviction is getting stronger by the day now. Americans are the frog being slowly boiled.
I am very unfortunately American. A former theologian turned historian, the evangelical christian influence is beyond what y’all could fathom. The churches pump unlimited monies into politics lobbiests and are compensated for their efforts pushing far right agenda. Democrats are “baby killers” (women’s health advocates). Immigrants are terrified, my queer communities is spiraling, and each signature on those papers is an act of violence against its citizens. If they care nothing for us, they view foreigners with a similar lack of humanity. They have folklore on their side, UK are the Christian persecutors who drove them out, they have created a mythos. It’s a radical movement that has become mainstream and aligns perfectly with the goals of radical racial movements like the KKK. Trumo has never once denounced any act of racism. It’s so much worse than 1930’s Germany because the fight is for the world’s souls.. and we know what zealots are capable of when given unlimited power and fear…. I am on track to at least be in Canada before the next election.
I don’t think we truly understand the gravity of January 6th. It would be like thousands of people storming Buckingham Palace to stop the monarchy from appointing the Prime Minister.
Even the insurrectionists of the American Civil War were pardoned after some time had passed, so I don't find it all that weird. But it seems nowadays people find it more important that their opponents get punished and humiliated than that a way is found to move forward. This is not helpful. It is very unfortunate though that Trump got to issue the pardon. Biden should have done it instead. And in my view Biden should have pardoned Trump in 2021, so we wouldn't have had all those prosecutions which helped Trump to make a comeback.
On Russia - Ukraine. Trump has warned Putin to reach a deal or face... sanctions. Given the US has already imposed such sanctions, this sounds like a meaning less gesture. ( Or maybe a disguised promise he will not consider using US arms).
Because it goes against the narrative these two are perpetuating. Trump does have a plan and America is NOT becoming isolationist. It’s no wonder the Britain is in a whole lot of trouble. These two epitomize how lost the elite are. It’s fascinating to watch.
The EV mandate was based on the a sliding scale of how many cars are sold. So Tesla had basically used all their grants thus they are receiving less grants than say Ford or GM. In short removing it hurts Tesla's competitors more.

It’s dark, it’s complicated and if you just mindlessly regurgitate propaganda soundbites you’ll remain ignorant. A lie can travel round the world before the truth has got out of bed.
I suggest we all face the facts and the future and stop moping around being bitter of Trump’s premiership. The United States is a democracy and its people have spoken loud and clearly. This is what they voted for. Let’s accept this and work within our sovereignty to make decisions that benefits us within this new world order.
@@tuco1099 Pretty sure I can comprehend it. Its a combination of an extreme individualistic culture so that people feel isolated and want to feel part of any movement. Extreme inequality which the wealthy blame on immigrants because they'd rather you be angry at the person earning less than minimum wage rather than the billionaire that pays no taxes. I’m genuinely worried about the coming refugee crisis. There are going to be climate refugees from countries prone to flooding and drought, and a very real chance of lgbt and poc refugees from the US (if they go as far as they say). Add on top of that internal migration because of climate issues (we’re already seeing flooding in parts of the UK) and the housing crisis, and you have an absolute powder keg.
We may get some lgbt refugees, but I doubt they would pick the UK guven a choice. The wind has been blowing similar to the US here for a while and we may even see some UK lgbt citizens claiming asylum in more free countries.
@ Yeah, I agree with that! I think I phrased it badly. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a large LGBT exodus from the US generally, but I don't think they'll come specifically here. But it won't be an in significant amount when it comes to adding to the total refugee population.
The electric vehicle subsidy removal helps Musk bc his company doesn’t need it anymore and it helps his competitors more than Tesla. So removing the subsidy hurts Musks competitors and therefore helps Musk.
How long did Rory live in South Africa during the eighties and is he aware of what is happening here now. How much does he know about Trump's ambassador to Israel?
He is but he is willfully choosing to ignore his knowledge for whatever reason, he cannot see things except from one angle which is a shame because he makes a lot of sense on other issues
Biden’s Pardon of everyone on the committee did that. What crime did they do that needs a pardon? If they did commit crimes, then the prosecutions are tainted. Hence, the reason for the pardon power.
You are only focussing on Israel. What about Hamas and their plans and ideoloogy???? There is absolutely no hint that they refrain from terror or have any interest in making long last peace.

@ what ? They are an energy company pretending they are better than all the other energy companies. People like Fuse Energy are The people making your Granny balance between food and heat
The EV tax credit withdrawal actually benefits Tesla because they're the only US electric vehicle manufacturer that's making profit on each unit sold. So brands like Rivian will probably go bust and GM/Ford will withdraw from EVs (maybe even go bust too in the long term).
The removal of the EV tax credit benefits Musk. Tesla is THE major player in EVs, and certainly the only EV manufacturer who can sell them at a profit thanks to their economies of scale. Removing the credit will hit Tesla, but it will hit other EV companies a thousand times harder, as they're now going to be making a (proportionally) vastly greater loss per vehicle without the credit. This effectively helps entrench Tesla's position as the market leader. The irony being it benefitted greatly from exactly these credits to get there.
Trump isn't just against the tax credit, he wants to "drill baby drill" and he has no interest in reducing CO2. Cheaper gas prices and a president that loves the ICE, isn't good news for Tesla. Add to that, the fact that Elon has been so partisan and is part of the Trump administration now, how many democrat voters are going to be buying a Tesla? You also have to factor in that Trump can fall out with Elon at any moment.

Living with Trump threathening military intervention over Greenland. And living with said niece asking and being worried. 4:50 I am not a Trumper BUT it was (and still is) absolutely freezing on the East Coast of the US. You’d forgive an elected president for not wanting to repeat a William Henry Harrison.
The removal of the EV subsidy helps Tesla as they have no legacy combustion engine production lines to wind down. This means they can produce cars much cheaper than older makers. The subsidy has enabled older car makers to compete, but with the removal, this will drive the price of EVs up when they are still building momentum in the us market. The calculation on Tesla's side is that it will leave traditional automakers very exposed as EVs take more of the market share and can produce more cheaply than combustion cars. The tricky bit is that as they are only working on the cost of production, so are the Chinese, and it is only a matter of time before that damn breaks.
The best thing about all of this is watching Alastair and Rory squirm. Their complete disbelief that people are sincerely happy with what he is doing is an affirmation of why they lost. The ignorance of a dying political class.
Their condescension and bafflement is fun to watch, but equally frustrating that so many people seem to take them as serious commentary. They represent a political class that has failed to serve the public and has become increasingly tyrannical in order to impose their views (e.g. Starmer). There are estimated to be half a million illegal immigrants in London at this time, the result of policies cooked up by the likes of these two.
The people who are happy with what trump is doing are the oligarchs who will benefit from it. The rest of the country won’t, but so many are too stupid to realise this.
I think we should lend our ears to what Alastair worries about regarding the Trump administration. The closing of the southern border for genuine asylum seekers is an international crime.

Do you reckon they care. The exodus of people with opposing views is exactly the outcome they seek. Similarly, all the people going to the other echo chamber called BlueSky. The inability of people these days to be exposed to non confirming views is the core issue really.
@Makmak-yf4dt Of course they care - they need your attention for publicity and to make their businesses work. If you leave they dont get that.
The salute was too much for most people. You can't believe how many people left.

Sadly, I agree that’s likely, but I won’t stop trying.
The tragedy is his supporters do believe him!
He actually told them that, and they cheered.

Question for you guys with some sense of European history:
Watching Trump for the past two years I’d been really thinking he was borrowing from German National Socialism rhetoric from 1930-33.
The parallels are scary.

But that's entirely the point. As with Jan 6th, unarmed subjects storming the palace would have exactly zero chance of success.

Then listening to his inauguration speech, and hearing, "God saved me', referring to his assassination attempt, am I the only one who thinks he's going to announce any day that he's the long awaited Messiah?????
Throughout all of the conflict in Gaza seeing the conditions of Israeli hostages compared to the Palestinian prisoners always astounded me. The hostages had clearly been looked after as well as they could given the circumstances, as evidenced by the lack of medical treatment any of them have needed. Whereas the Palestinian prisoners are starved, traumatised and look as though they have been continuously tortured
The depressing thing is the one-sidedness of it - why are they (Israelis) allowed to do that?
@@greghills87 it feels like Israel can do whatever they want, no one that actually matters dares to say that they are in the wrong
30 Palestinians released for each Israeli hostage released? How fair is that?
@@mkkrupp2462 It's because Israel hold far far far more Palestinians has hostages so if it was 1 for 1 then proportionally no Palestinians would have been released. You understand proportions and balance right?
Here's a challenging question, if you're wanting to remember to be positive, as in the final bit on Gaza. Living in Denmark with a 11 year old niece who is interested in politics and asks questions on Putin and now Trump. Living with Putin, not close but not comfortably far away either. Living with Trump threathening military intervention over Greenland. And living with said niece asking and being worried. How would you formulate a response that explains, while being both honest and realistic without causing fear?
America is now like watching I Claudius 🏴🇬🇧🇦🇺
not quite as funny...
So they just got rid of Caligula then?
@@VaucluseVanguard Then they had Uncle Clclclaudius who was murdered by Nero. It ain't over until it is over.
Good call but Melania is no Livia!
About the cousins - I do appreciate that with a UK audience a comment referencing the first Roman emperor can easily garner a half dozen responses. From the reigning champs, to the former, I say well done.
It's really simple, Melania is echoing Diana's use of outfits to signal messages.. the Ice Queen outfit with the severe hat & burroned up coat dress is saying loud and clear, he doesn't come near me..ever! The ball gown, more of the same , the black band around her clavicle is hands off , I HAVE to dance with him but I won't be sharing anything else !
She's far more in control this time & knows he needs her to, at least, appear to be on his side ...she's not !
Trip seem to be deleting comments here
Maybe.
I can imagine though that on a topic like this, you’d get a lot of idiots with extreme and inflammatory takes, on both ends of the spectrum.
And from the little I’ve seen anyway, TRIP try and keep their coverage and discussion fairly neutral and impartial.
@stormer2349I made a very polite comment that was deleted
Thanks guys!
4:50 I am not a Trumper BUT it was (and still is) absolutely freezing on the East Coast of the US. You’d forgive an elected president for not wanting to repeat a William Henry Harrison.
Yes it looked freezing. They can't expect all those older presidents etc sitting outside all day in that snow!!
More likely security personnel would’ve been more exposed to the elements
Of all the political discussions I follow on YT this one I enjoy the most .
How many ceasefires have there been in Palestine?
@@toadman5184 so why are you here?
The people who are happy with what trump is doing are the oligarchs who will benefit from it. The rest of the country won’t, but so many are too stupid to realise this.
@ "Their condescension and bafflement is fun to watch"
@@toadman5184And so are the moronic and ignorant comments, like yours
...and why is it a bad thing that John Bolton is being stripped of his security clearance?
I think we should lend our ears to what Alastair worries about regarding the Trump administration. The closing of the southern border for genuine asylum seekers is an international crime.
It's just not.
Let them into Britain. It's going so well over there!
Why?
He never said there would be no legal immigration.
@@FRM101 The geneva convention (international law -> international crime) commits nations to processing asylum seekers and accepting genuine asylum claims.
Why does trump want a USA ambassador at the UN when he says he is withdrawing from it???
Trump isn't withdrawing the US from the UN, you may be thinking of the WHO.
What do you think is more dangerous. A massive clementine that has no sense of direction and rules by chaos, or a massive clementine that has a plan and now knows how to enact his fascist agenda?

The American experiment has been for 349 years. Nice well it lasted.
Nice for us maybe not for all the rest of the democracies we toppled for corporate profits

Yeah focus on how great things are in the UK!
@@themakerofmagic I don't think things are bad in the UK. People love to complain, but that's our nature. I remember the late 1970s, things were far worse back then, but people talk like that was a great time.
Best you get off Social media and cut off your gas and energy supplies, Now the UK is closing down the North sea, where do you think energy imports are coming from ?
