I'm about to move soon myself. My husband and I bought a house recently and I'm so ready to not be in a one bedroom apartment anymore. We feel lucky to be able to buy a house in this insane housing market but it's such a cute little house. Your apartment is so adorable! It's really hard to find apartments with character like yours that don't have horrible beige walls with paint all over the place.
I just moved 250 miles across the UK last weekend and it was so hard so I really feel your pain with the packing etc. I couldn't fit everything in one van so had to drive all the way back and get the rest of my stuff. 1000 miles in 2 days is no joke 😅 I hope we'll both be very happy in our new homes 🖤

Super glad you’re settling in. I just moved cross country myself from Houston to Jersey City. Starting corporate life ugh. I have two luggage’s to my name and one was filled with just clothes lol. Definitely can’t wait to settle but trying to enjoy the small things right now. I can’t wait to get my kitty GG here eventually

omg you are in Chicago!! I'm a NYer living in Chicago, for thrifting you should go to Goodwill bins in Wisconsin! Its a bit hectic in there but I found some great stuff there
What a beautiful new place!! And I totally agree that moving sucks. I was told that people move more in their twenties than any other era of life and it made me feel a bit less overwhelmed by it all.
@@lovejessicablair thats usually how it is which SUCKSSS like the best place ik for furniture is Society of St Vincent Depaul an hour away in Libertyville but its so worth it. if ur on the north side i would recommend the Village Discount Outlet in wicker park, its packed full of clothes but it can be hard to find stuff if youre looking for specifics. Lost Girls Vintage is a plus size store and they put up a lot of pop-ups theres one in the Andersonville Galleria(which i loveeee). honestly good luck ive found some great things but it takes time 😭 FB marketplace is a curse and a blessing. lots of cute stuff for WAY too much money.

It's so exciting to get to decorate and get used to a new place. But I've also never had to move long distances or hire movers. If I didn't move everything by myself and someone helping and not like within 30 mins in distance I might feel different about it 🤷🏽♀️
we moved for multiple reasons: my bf transferred universities, closer to family, cheaper rent. but also i kinda hated living in jersey! there’s great parts of the city but it just isn’t for me personally. also that’s how i feel about people who hire movers to pack/move/unpack for them 😭 maybe i’d feel differently if people packed up my entire place, moved it, unpacked it and i could just fly to whatever city i’m moving to, but that’s so wild to me that people can do that :”)
i’d rather not have my neighborhood on the internet 😭 but around logan square/albany park/lincoln square. i have a car so it’s not hard for me to get around or drive further! (thank u btw!!
