    Wow, no funky intro, no excessive babbling, and good camera work make this an enjoyable video to watch. I also like how factual the dialog is. I have a 108 I'm restoring, but I'm going with a bore out- on my 10 hp. By now I am intimately familiar with the clutch set-up!

    It's coming out good! You did a good job mounting the motor in it! Have a good week! See ya!

    I'd be tempted to keep the Cub Cadet the original colors. Good information on the Preditor motor upgrades. Thanks for sharing.

    Thats a weird clutch design, I definitely haven't seen anything like that before. Also I love seeing how many things that the harbor freight motors are shoved into

    Be nice to see it pull a sled. I haven't seen anyone put a 670 on one yet. I figured someone would have seeing they are a cheep power build. Garden tractors are known for a cheep sport if stay closer to stock. Good video and nice to see someone making adapters to fit these engines on old cubs. Like to get one someday.

    That was cool to watch. I can’t wait to see it run. I learned a few things too! Thanks for sharing. My friend has a few old yard tractors like that I help him toy around with sometimes.

      Thanks for watching! I'm hoping to have it running soon and make a new video covering all of the different modifications I had to make to the frame.

      @@jasonwhitler4167 what is the name and telephone number & address of the company that makes the flywheel adapter ?

    • @jasonwhitler4167

      @@craigalston2208 I just found them on eBay. Here's a link. www.ebay.com/str/zachkerbermachineanddesign
      But the adapter does not make the predator 420 a drop in replacement. The crack shaft is at least 1/4" higher from the engine base than the crank on the Kohler, so you have to make some modifications to get the shaft aligned right. I'll show them in my next video, but I've been really busy with work

    Did the same for my cub, predator engine, where did you get the clutch parts? Mine works, but will need to upgrade sooner than later. We reversed the engine and works good,,, idle will pull disk thanks

      I’m pretty sure I sourced everything from eBay for the clutch. Sorry it has been a few years and I don’t remember the seller.

    You can flip the gears in the rear end and use the crankshaft side of the motor!

    • @jasonwhitler4167
      @jasonwhitler4167  2 роки тому +1

      Yup. I'd like to keep the pto in case I ever find a mower for it, so I opted to just buy the adapter. Currently working on getting the transmission input inline with the crankshaft.

    How about tilting the new engine so the cylinder is vertical?

    • @jasonwhitler4167
      @jasonwhitler4167  Рік тому

      I'll look into that. I'll need to fabricate a base to hold the engine at an angle though

      I’m pretty sure it’s a 70 or 100. The grill and dash look like an older design than the 106

    Sears made a bunch of farm implements for lawn tractors. Do they fit the Cub? Or did IH make some for the Cub?

    • @jasonwhitler4167
      @jasonwhitler4167  2 роки тому

      IH made most of the implements for the cub. This really isn't my area of expertise, so I'm not sure if sears made anything that fits the cub cadet.

      @@jasonwhitler4167 Just curious. I have a few Sears implements. Used them behind a fore-cart with my ponies. A 4 gang disk and a blade. Did IH make a sickle bar?

    Is there an adapter for the pto clutch?

    • @jasonwhitler4167
      @jasonwhitler4167  Рік тому +1

      If you put the engine in the right spot , I'm pretty sure you can reuse the same clutch. My cub is missing enough of those parts where it's easier to put an alternator on it and use an electric pto clutch.

    You might have been better off staying with the vertical head type engine ( commercial )

    • @jasonwhitler4167
      @jasonwhitler4167  2 роки тому

      I would have preferred that, but there weren't any available near me with a starter. If I had an engine closer to the original Kohler the swap would be much easier. Everything is bolted down and working now. I just need a good day to get a video.

      @@jasonwhitler4167 I just removed my 10hp cast kohler engine. Everything was working when parked maybe 4-5 years ago! It’s still free just couldn’t find parts to well for it. Like points and it kept over heating blowing head gaskets so I parked it. But just the other day got a wild hair to dig it back out and toy with it and we’ll watching your video has made me more into the idea. Sadly I use to race go karts so I have tons of flat head engines but don’t know how to make one of those old race engines work. Great content pal.
