      Issac Gutirrez I find it funny NONE of the stars are here. Where are the Hall and Ramon wrestlers? Or the Savage's who turn up at show time and just talk and hit people with rubber bats?? This is a prime example of precisely why WCW failed. Their lower to mid card performers were the most talented rigorously trained wrestlers in the world. Whilst they could barely pay off their powerplant registration fees the main card were all outrageously overpaid ageing former big names whom dictated their contracts

    • @the-blue-barron2791
      @the-blue-barron2791 3 роки тому +1

      @@patriceaqa288 100% correct WCW paid out massive wages to pull ageing stars from WWF and at first it work but when the NWO story ran dry they didn't have the funds for
      the next generation.

    • @patriceaqa288
      @patriceaqa288 3 роки тому +3

      @@the-blue-barron2791 The NWO story would always have expired eventually. I think the fact that incredible talent on the lower card, and stars on the midcard, had zero say in what happened and just watched Hogan/Nash/Hall etc make ridiculous money for wrestling very little was toxic. Chris Jericho smashing a chair breaking the 4th wall screaming 'I'm sick of this!' because he'd just worked a very hard match on the mid card, and that Chris Benoit (RIP) said going to WWF was like going from black and white to color T.V, I think that epitomizes the whole thing. Do you know that roughly 45 wrestlers operating on the lower or mid card who trained at the powerplant were not given any pay up until Turner sold the business, and that pay was rescinded. Very sad they had huge powerplant debts to pay off and weren't earning at all

      Wrestling is not fake, but it is cooperative, athletic, physical and demanding story telling with a pre determined outcome. There. That's the answer to the question.
      Sarge didn't answer any questions. He just bullied and screamed at poor Louis because the daft thug he lacks the mental acumen to provide a clear, simple answer to a "stupid" question.
      He seemed to mistake the question for "are you really athletes"?
      What kind of coach punishes people for asking core questions like this?
      The result is a wrestler such as Goldberg (his student) who was athletic as hell but was never properly taught and trained in the other core principles of wrestling before being pushed onto the stage. Damn physical, but prone to hurting people and ill prepared for wrestling long matches, the politics of the business, adapting to different styles (see match with William Regal) and the principles of ring psychology.
      Can you imagine how much of a different, clearer answer someone like Lance Storm would provide at his wrestling academy? Or William Regal at the WWE Performance Center?

      I'm trying to understand your argument about looking at deaths in MMA vs Boxing vs Pro Wrestling. Are you saying the wrestlers are tougher because they have died more? You're aware most of those deaths are drug related right? Having you're heart blow up because of roids or your liver give out from alcohol and pill abuse does not equate to being a great athlete....

    It is part sport, stunt work, choreography and acting. The term fake can be applied. Although the dangers and risks are very real - It is why wrestlers get offended - the term "fake" trivialises it. It's a very brutal and harsh industry. The Dark Side of Wrestling is a fascinating documentary.

      Nathan Beaven That's the reason, doesn't mean it's an excuse. Do you seriously think this is any way to behave? He wouldn't be acting so tough to someone bigger, he's taking advantage of the fact that Louis isn't a threatening person. It's kind of an unwritten rule between men that if you push someone too much there will be a physical confrontation but that would never happen with Louis so he takes advantage of that. It's what an insecure beta does to assert his dominance / stroke his own ego. This is classic male behaviour.

    Hes not a bully he is telling it how it is. So many people say its fake but this is the training they go through. So the outcome might be fake BUT try falling on your back from 4ft running ropes and in some places ropes are so tight they cut. Can go on but he learnt a lesson DONT RUN YOUR MOUTH IF YOUR NOT ABLE

    I thought that Louis said they weren't "Sportsmen" rather than athletes and obviously he's correct. Coal mining can be incredibly physically demanding and arduous it doesn't mean it's a sport. I actually think the best comparison for pro wrestling is dancing- there's no competition aspect but it still demands a great deal of physical attributes and skill just like a ballet dancer would.
