What a fun project this was! If you would like to see the finished product, "We Don't Need Anything This Year" is out on all streaming platforms, and available for purchase on our website: petersenband.com/product/we-dont-need-anything-this-year/. Merry Christmas, everyone!
Wow, it's funny seeing how Katie is a perfectionist in the best way - really great focus on her violin parts and then leading those tricky harmonies. Also, great vlog Julianne!
È sempre un piacere rivedervi, e anche un pochino di stimolo! Il barre' è un disastro ma ho tempo per imparare! Grazie per i vostri video e Buon Natale un po' in anticipo ma auguri fatti col cuore! Ciao ragazzi dall' Italia!
Ok, I'll admit it. I applauded when they got the take they wanted on the Home for the Holiday's harmony. This vlog is a real present, with many things to like - the sound studio that is somebody's home is totally appropriate. Does anyone blame Dewey for dancing? Matt makes a water bottle look funny. The hot take where Katie stated she wasn't a boy. Ellen and Julz, the world's best band interns. Strangely appropriate that Emmett's birthday came in the middle of it. Momma being the good natured soul that she is. And really, just a lot of hard work all around. Lovely vlog, Julianne. Take a bow. Oh, and your backup band did pretty well too.
Hello from Japan 😃 I was so thrilled to see the behind the scenes of the song recording! It must be a lot of work 😳 I was even more surprised by the ramen for lunch! Your chopstick usage is amazing 👍
I'm happy to see the recording of the Christmas album. Although it may seem difficult at times, the album that was completed while having fun is truly wonderful.🎶
What an awesome glimpse into the behind the scenes with the wonderful family we all know and love. Such a wonderful family. I can't wait to see the next studio behind the scenes with Macy running the show behind the scenes.
I'll be at the Arlington, Texas show!!!😊😊😊 I've been attempting to get to a Petersens concert since 2019!!! I now live in Texas, so I'll be at the December 14th show.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This has to be enjoyed, travelling with you all, and joining in with your comments. Well I’m a real goose though , totally entertained by your activities your talent ( honestly mind boggling ) above all, your personalities. I feel like your friend as you share your times, and always enjoy your emotions. Stay well all of you and love from Australia. 👍🇦🇺.
Awesome! Thank you all for sharing your process with us. Just curious, ..... as a life long musician, long time studio and live production business owner, how are you recording the fiddle at 12:30ish ........ the mic isn't plugged in! 😄 Anyway, love your vlogs and your music! AND the closeness of your family!! We're working on booking some shows in the Branson area. Hope to meet you all in person down the road.
I've been without a phone since it was destroyed Wednesday morning. When I finally got a new one Thursday night, I had 70-80 new video notifications. Obvously I had to be selective about which ones to watch. Can't miss the Petersens! That being said, this one included Emmet's birthday. I hope for gifts he recieved a lot of dough, bro! You know, cause he's the dobro guy.... Yeah, I know, I know... I'll see myself out. 🤣😂
As I always thought, this is the hardest part for any musician: recording an album! Everything has to be perfect and so, each time, the recordings are repeated until they reach that perfection. It really takes a lot of professionalism and you get it. Behind so many moments of pure fun (Matt singing “Mary, Did You Know?” is really hilarious!) there always appears a great concentration in what you are doing to always give your best. Thanks Julianne, seeing this aspect of your work is really interesting.
I wanna get good enough at the guitar one day to be able to actually record a metal song on tape in a single take. Digital is cool and all but the constraints of recording to tape with no Pro Tools forces you to be prepared. Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes!
Thank you Julianne, for this fun look behind the scenes of what became my favorite Christmas album! Just curious, were Mary, Hitoshi, and Jeremy, also there with you guys, or did they record separately?
After the take, Katie gave a measured response to "do you like it?". Ironically, the producer tried to extract a different response while suggesting that Katie wasn't saying what she meant. But Katie wasn't having any of that!
the thumbnail of Julianne and Ellen looking downward mildly amused makes me feel like a small mouse or other such feeble creature thats been locked into a little box for their entertainment

Awww thank you! We love recording with Dewey and Troy, they made it so fun :)
Whenever I see a “stop” sign on the road I see Katie lying down shouting “stop”!😅
A panic merchant lol.
@@eudora1968 I fear you suffer from Petersen fixation. There is no know cure, or at least none I'm interested in taking.

Best joke of the session goes to Matt telling his mom the last mistake she made was when he was born 🙂
That had me rolling hahahhaha

Very interesting project in the studio. The created music for christmas surely is very good? I hope all things functioned very well.
It's so cool to see this album being made. It sits in the CD player of my daily driver. I was just listening to it.
Please come to Lancaster, PA for a show.
The time travel you guys do between videos! No wonder you're exhausted.
Thank you for showing us the process
Yaaayyy!!!
A new vlog 😅😅 ❤❤❤
New Vlog. Hooray 🎉
That was very cool, to be able to "join" the Petersens in the studio. Really good.
‘Tis the season for discussions about yelling “STOP!!” correctly!!

Is this the self proclaimed secret Christmas album Vlog 😁

It's such a warm weather where they filmed. There is still no snow... Where I am now blizzards have already stormed...

Katie was there with them when they recorded!
@@PetersenVlogs where did y'all record the last song "we don't need anything this year"? Did you show it in the vlog?

Hello Mother Love You
♥
Advent, Advent, Advent...
Entertaining video, although you mistakenly identified the year of recording as "2023" before the third (as I recall) day's footage.
How Larkin Poe started out!
"That's Gravity" hahahahahaha.
What are Huey and Louie's jobs?
A Wee Bit of Bluegrass Christmas Album.

It's almost Emmett's birthdate, again. lol
With 2 years in between...
Interesting watching the creative process happen why does everyone's face scowl someone says the word fine

You could do another take , each yelling “stop!”, one at a time, slightly more exasperated each time.
Interesting to see the BTS. THANKS

It’s sad that they’re addicted to coffee. It seems they’re always carrying coffee.
3 cups a day is not addiction.
Sorry to tell you this, but my infatuation with your violinist is not subsiding. Give us a break out here.
