Subs can be so much fun, I was a Maggie fan for a while and built a home theater with 20.1’s in the front, 3.6’s in the rear and a 1.6 as a center channel. They have wonderful mods but even the 20’s as huge as they are don’t have a lot of bass. After doing a Matt and going through a dozen different subs I ended up pairing them with a set of Vandersteen subs. They were the ones that matched the transient response of the Maggie’s. I ended up adding a pair in the rear and their .1 sub. So 5 subs in one room with a couple of chairs. Fun times.

Quick question about the 18s, does it have a footswitch bypass input? Or any way to quickly engage or disengage the sub from the satellite monitors?
I'm over in the UK and have one of the Core Sub's in my office. It's crazy. I'm going to take it over to my movie room tomorrow ( Trinnov Based cinema ) and will give it a run in that room against some of the existing Sub's I've got in place. Wlll be interesting to see how it sounds / moves air, but sealed 2 x 18" and 1,000 watts is going to be crazy.

Is it somehow possible to combine Dynaudio Contour 20 with Sub 18s? For example with a preset of a similat speaker from pro series? Or just over high pass filter? I wonder if it makes sense.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why the $4000 top of the line studio subwoofer does not have a traditional I/O back panel to allow analog left and right monitor feeds or a footswitch option.

I’ve read that connecting main speakers through the sub, it can add noise. Is it possible to use dsp if every speaker is directly connected to amp?

Does does the 9S use AD/DA conversion for HPF (to mains) and LPF? Or is it done through analog?
That's a darn good question. I'm not sure what the filter is using. I run the cross over as flat/full range, so it simply passes through.
I am an happy owner of Dynaudio Focus 10 speakers. I read on the Owner's manual tha i can connect a subfoower straight on my main speaker. I've bought a Dynaudio Sub 6 subwoofer and wish connect it to my speakers.
Can you please explain me how to do it and wich type of cable or connection will be the best way to do so.

You can connect to the Sub 6 with an RCA cable from the sub out port on your Focus 10 to the input on the subwoofer.

Just got special fortys for my 10m2 room. Wanna upgrade my Qacoustics 3060s, would I be looking at the Sub 3?
I'd much rather have a Sub 6. The Sub 3 is a little weak for me. It doesn't use the same high excursion woofer as the 6.

Could you please tell what is the difference between the DSPs in 6 and 18s?
Didn't understand so well, 18s doesn't have preconfigured modes for models like Contour and Sub 6 has it. Did I misunderstand this?
The 18S DSP is preloaded with the professional speaker profiles: Core and LYD. Sub 6 is loaded with the consumer speakers: Evoke, Contour, etc.
@@ObsessedGarage In your opinion, is it ok to buy 18s for Contour that I already have? Considering the price difference (6 vs 18s) is about 1000€

Do you know the cone excursion limits of the sub 6?
Also, I've heard that the sub 6/18s have recall issues with the amp, has this been resolved?
That's a great comparison. I've had several JL e-subs and fathoms over the years. I would say the e-sub has more output. It's a "bassier" sub, if that makes sense. The Sub6/18s is a gentleman's sub. It is more musical, but still does a fantastic job in my theater. I have 2 Sub 18s and 4 Sub 6 in various locations in my house in FL and the house in Helen. I haven't had any issues with any of them.
@@ObsessedGarage that's interesting, the sub 6 combined come area is the same as a 12" subwoofer, and I expect that these things have a long throw. I kind of thought that the sub 6 would sit between the e110 and e112 in terms of output.
I've been through many different high end subwoofers, b&W DB2d, Velodyne dd10 plus, JL e110, paradigm studio sub 12, paradigm prestige 1000sw, and none of these could blend with my contour 20 speakers, there would always be a phase issue somewhere along the range, which would cause some notes to be completely cancelled out, and others twisted and muddy. No it's not the acoustics, that's a separate issue.
The only time I had perfect phase sync is when I had the b&W 805d2 running with the b&W DB2d using the built in DSP preset.
I've got a dynaudio sub 6 on order, it will arrive in about 2 weeks. I expect that it will blend seamlessly, and I'm hoping that it will have the dynamic output of the JL e110
@@anonuser2273 check out the JL e110 video by Nemo propaganda on UA-cam. Look at the comments section, I asked him about the dynaudio sub 6/18s, he said that he had 2 of them, both of them faulty, and that it's a common problem.

@@anonuser2273 Ah that's good. They use a decent amp. It's a hypex nc500 module. B&W db series subs use the nc502 module, 2x500wrms.
I'm curious to know how your new sub performs, what are you upgrading from?
Have you taken a look at Rythmik? They have extremely good quality servo subwoofers for the money, better value than SVS.
I'm very familiar. The fit and finish is really rough on those. I much prefer SVS.
Do you like sealed or ported subwoofers?
Sealed for SQ, port for boom is what I've always noticed.
Gene at Audioholics says if a subwoofer is designed correctly you shouldn’t be able to tell the difference with that being said i just went from a pb13ultra with 2-pb2000 and now have 2-seaton F18’s and they blow my old ported subs away

The Sub 6 come preconfigured to work with the Evoke series speakers.
Is a paire of 18s match the SPL of a core sub?
I think you would be a bit more amplitude from two of them versus the single Core Sub.
