I am glad you are all ok except some injury and breaking the frame. Sincerely happy for you. I would like to share my injury story: Last year I start cycling (and I seek for your view is it good to buy roadbike online!), on my first month of cycling, only a mere 3-4 times of cycle, I got an accident. I cycled into a slit between the road and the grass, as the road is newly patched, it's much higher level than the grass, resulted a deep slit. My bike got into it and can't get out from there. Was in pretty fast speed too about 35km/hr, my bike hit the divider in front and I flew out from the bike. My left shoulder and hit the next divider in front, and my back hit it too. It was a shocking pain, at that moment I know it is very very bad. Called my family, sent to the hospital and found that I have a few bone fractures on my ribs and my spine, not the main spine fortunately, it's on the "wing" of my spine. I thought that's the most serious injury, but it wasn't. I found that I can't lift up my left arm, and I feel a numbness on my left upper arm. After a few MRI and CT scan, I was told very likely the accident causing strong impact to my nerve. After a few more nerve test, it's brachial plexus injury. Fast forward to now (9 months since the accident), my bone fractures all recovered within 2 months. I had a nerve surgery, and attending physiotherapy every week. Arm is improving, can lift up to 90 degrees front, but only 20 degrees side. It won't recover 100%, at max 70% according to doctor. I am glad that I am still alive, and I can still cycle, but now only do in taman area. I am happy for you that you had minor injury and no fractures and stuff. Although you broke your beloved (and expensive) frame, more importantly you are all ok. Oh ya what happened to my bike after the accident? A few big crack on the carbon frame and definitely can't be fixed nor ride! God bless you. Cheers.

I had 2 major crash in my cycling. 1 dislocated elbow and the other was fracture humerus. It's really devastating and you will whisper at some point "I will never go cycling again.." But dang.. life is short. And riding a bike makes me happy...

As for the bike, the top tube is one of the better places to crack it, as it’s lightly loaded. A good carbon repairer can make it as good as new with the correct fibre weight and importantly the orientation. I had Raul at Lueshner Teknik in Melbourne scan the frame repair my Argon 18 top tube for $1000 AUD. Perfect repair. I’m sure that he’s repaired bikes from overseas before. Check out his UA-cam channel. Just another option if you are stuck finding a quality composite repairer.

i rode for 4 years about (60k mileage) crashed twice only knee scrape and bruises. then played tennis only 3 months and i ended up dislocated my shoulder trying to serve. it is what it is. hope you get back on the saddle as soon as possible :)

I took a tumble in a triathlon about 12 years ago, broken collarbone, lots of road rash and a cracked helmet (always wear a helmet) Funny part is when the Ambulance came, I insisted on putting my bike in the back of the ambulance and sat up front with the driver LOL. Bike is fine, still ride it sometimes (gotta love aluminium frames) Lots of funny stories from that day but not if you ask my wife.

Stay safe and don't feel too bad about your bike frame. Money can find back (to buy new or repair) but the experience of cycling is priceless!

I was leading in the bike leg and everything was going smoothly then when I ran, shit happens. Have to limped myself back to finish line. Not the end that I wanted after 2 months of solid training. I crashed a $3000 recumbent right in front of a police station. I fractured a vertebrae too. I recovered. Thank God. I get soar but can still ride. Stay safe.

So sorry for the mishap Melvin. Hope you are recovering well. I feel & understand you bro. I went through something worse over a month ago. I got hit by a car from behind and the police came out with a judgement of "refer to insurance". As such, I wasn't able to make a claim against the driver's insurance and had to pay for the damages and injuries myself. 😓😓

@@melvintanchannel If you do happen to score one (if it's on disc brakes), be mindful of the wheelset upgrades you can do because it can either be open dropouts (QR wheels) or half-half (front thru-axle, rear QR). Also, there aren't a ton of BB30A options out there if you want to run a BB with outboard bearings. Nonetheless, get well soon Melvin! I was shocked when I first knew about your crash (and the damaged Aerfast 😢).

I took a tumble in a triathlon about 12 years ago, broken collarbone, lots of road rash and a cracked helmet (always wear a helmet)
Funny part is when the Ambulance came, I insisted on putting my bike in the back of the ambulance and sat up front with the driver LOL. Bike is fine, still ride it sometimes (gotta love aluminium frames)
Lots of funny stories from that day but not if you ask my wife.

Get well soon bro! My friend just recently had a bad fall from his bike too and he fractured some bones in his palm and head injury. His helmet total loss but luckily he wore it! Stay safe and don't feel too bad about your bike frame. Money can find back (to buy new or repair) but the experience of cycling is priceless!

Get well soon bro! So sorry to hear the bad news. I crashed 2 months ago, it took me 4 weeks to get back on the bike. Just be nice and easy on the first couple of rides. As for your Storck I am sure you can make some good video about the repair and if not then video about getting a new bike. Cheers! Kudos to your riding group.

I was leading in the bike leg and everything was going smoothly then when I ran, shit happens. Have to limped myself back to finish line. Not the end that I wanted after 2 months of solid training. I too feel disappointed and sad inside. But just like you said, this part of the game. We will come back stronger. Now just focus on recovering well bro. Jiayou!!

Sad to see that you crashed and broke your Storck frame. But glad to know you are alright with no serious injuries. As a cyclist I know how you felt and how disappointed you are. Can't go cycling for a while and damaged your new bike is most probably the most SIAN part. But look on the bright side that nothing serious happened to you. I crashed a $3000 recumbent right in front of a police station. I fractured a vertebrae too. I recovered. Thank God. I get soar but can still ride. Stay safe.

So sorry for the mishap Melvin. Hope you are recovering well. I feel & understand you bro. I went through something worse over a month ago. I got hit by a car from behind and the police came out with a judgement of "refer to insurance". As such, I wasn't able to make a claim against the driver's insurance and had to pay for the damages and injuries myself. 😓😓
Ouch.... I can feel u bro..... Its hard enough we got injured and have to replace our bike... Now need to pay for damages... Not cool bro...

@@melvintanchannel If you do happen to score one (if it's on disc brakes), be mindful of the wheelset upgrades you can do because it can either be open dropouts (QR wheels) or half-half (front thru-axle, rear QR).
Also, there aren't a ton of BB30A options out there if you want to run a BB with outboard bearings.
