When I was there in October of 2008 there wasn't any tours that day. I was able to convince Rob to take me up just us two. After he showed me around he let me stay up there alone to sit an smoke a Dutch on that rock Bob use to mediate on. He came bck up shortly after to tell me he got in trouble for leaving me up there by myself. Then these young boys that where there made me tea from White Widow they grew out back. Also when you walk out of the gate of that place onto the street there's a bar across the road. At that time a man got shot in the middle of that road. The road had a big painted mural on it for him. Thats only half of the story from my day at Nine Mile!!! R.I.P. 2The Great BOB MARLEY!!!!

Working for PM Seaga, I helped organize the funeral of Bob Marley in Kingston and accompanies the funeral procession up to Nine Mile...a truly memorable, awesome experience! A thousand or so Rastas assembles all over the small village as Marley's coffin was entombed amidst the smells of ganja, vegetation, and Rasts selling fruit juices...A shame how the whole area has become so "commercialized."

When we went in 2017, it was included in our resort / tours package. I meant to ask our tour guide, but forgot....Shout out to Ms Maxine & Mr. Brown!! Best tour guide, and driver ever!!
