I was just watching the full episode. I stopped it at this part just to search for the clip to share on FB LOL!!! My heart is full. I love this show. So many great memories!
Back in the 70's I was a teenager and as far as I was concerned, when my friends and I were together all was right with the world. We could tease each other and laugh at ourselves.Yes there was a lot of hard times but when our group was together and had a record player and a stack of 45's hard times just disappeared for several hours as we listened to and sang with the hit songs of 1972 or thereabouts. Stampeders, the Archies, Joe Cocker, the Osmonds, Jackson 5, David Cassidy, Don McLean and American Pie (the long version of course), The 5 man Electrical Band, Paul McCartney ad Wings, Elton John, even the Monkees were still huge! And yes we hooted and hollered to the stories on All in the Family, Happy Days, The Partridge Family, and so on. I'm glad I was a teenager back then and not now!

Archie was funny. I watched this when new, and it wasn't shocking or controversial, but sure wouldn't premiere today.Mike sure had influence on Gloria...she's been atheist since marrying him, but growing up she probably went to church. She tends to go along with his views on anything, except when they argue.
However, her decisions (not going to school, placing all her future with Mike, easily influenced) came back to bite her when they moved to California. It was somewhat awkward where many of her friends were in school but she was not (selling cosmetics at a department store). The Bunkers were struggling mightily and upon reflection were quite poor by today's standards.
Those writers were just great. Everyone has someone like Archie in their family...😂 How does it go again: It's better to have people think you're a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!
