If the rope is angled the truck with the higher mounting bracket will have the advantage, because as the trucks begin to pull, the higher tow rope will cause the rear-end of the opposing truck to lift up, causing it to loose grip unfairly.

i guess the secret to the flatbed is its singular frame and not much suspension travel to loose traction from bouncing. i wonder if the contestents ever use intelligent traction control systems which are mapped for this. coal train doesnt slip if you watch. the gy in the white truck is watching his tires for optimal torque with his foot

The weight of the trucks needs to be adjusted, so both have the same weight over their drive axles.
