To Porsche, as an Asian myself, we love and buy Porsche because it’s the essence of German engineering, NOT because some privileged Asian artist likes it. And the capital of Singapore is NOT Stuttgart.
I know it’s kind of the way of the market but the whole it “operates like a smartphone” comment reflects a miss among Porsche enthusiasts, in my opinion. I get that a Macan buyer isn’t necessarily an “enthusiast” but I sincerely hope this digitization doesn’t trickle into the sports car models.
I think the front looks great! Not 10/10 but good! The back though, really mediocre. From some angles it really looks like an Audi. I don’t appreciate this. The old Macan was unbelievably distinct. This not so much. What’s going to be with the electric Cayenne? I’m sure it’s going to look identical 😢
Design of the car itself is good but I’m not sure how convenient it is to find a charging station is a rural area and the battery replacement cost/ resale value 8-10 years down the road
If you buy a car like this, you put a 380v tri phases charger at home in your garage and you're fine (cost a bit but not that much, easy to obtain here in France) And if you can and want better and live in a sunny aera like me, you can even put solar panels on your home and batteries And after that most of your daily travels will almost cost you "nothing" That's imho the end goal here, a good investment for your future whatever electric car you will have

I'm slightly annoyed that they named it after the Indonesian word for tiger, but they don't pronounce it correctly. It's ma-tchan, not ma-kahn. Anyway "makan" means "to eat" in Indonesian so it still means something lol.

Nope, not for everyone, I'm REALLY hyped by a Porsche all electric SUV with a lot of torque, the Porsche handling / driving feeling, and a nice range Not forgetting the designs, this car look good, better than the first one, more slick and aggressive So I'm in love with what I see, look like a really good car to me, with the high standard of quali a Porsche can offer ❤ Oh and even if I like engine sound, in the end I don't care if peoples can't ear me, my car is for my driving pleasure, not for my ego, plus I love the idea to not bother other people at night making unnecessary noise with my dailydrive ;) so it's perfect

Sorry let me correct you, yes it’s a EV and quiet because it doesn’t have an engine BUT if you had a EV or a Porsche EV, there is a feature in the car to make it sound like a Porsche engine. You get the best of both worlds.
Once we start going electric, there won’t be any going back. Who is going to miss leaking rear main seals, IMS issues, $30k engine rebuilds etc. The recharging grid isn’t great yet, it will get there, after all, gas stations weren’t around either when ICE engines came out.
30$ engine rebuilt? Cmon man. Who does that? Virtually no one. However, so far these electric batteries need to be changed approximately every 8 years . That’s expensive, and Porsche will make sure that it is.

Be interested to know what the interior cabin noise is like and the build quality, I had a 2019 M3LR as a company car (2nd user) and couldn’t wait to get rid of it. It rattled and banged and was just awful, the road noise was unbearable. I really do hope the latest ones are a big improvement🤞🤞
500 km range??? Living in the Intermountain western USA here’s yet another electric vehicle I can’t buy. The closest places are 300 miles away, bigger places 500 miles. So 500km means maybe I can get to a charging station. Maybe I can’t. 😢 Color me disappointed.
I came on here to here and see all about the new Macan , inside out. It took them about 25 min to get to it... Most of it was about Singapore about one of their famous art designers and art couretors.... I understand very well that design/art is a big part to design a Porsche and other cars, but this event should have been mainly about the car and it's designers and engineers and NOT about any country, their artists , art couretors or what have you. This is/was a very poor and so disappointing introducing about a car which was so long in the making and it's introduction being delayed several times. Also, I can't recall seeing any interior shots of the car :( You did so much testing in the desert, in snow and ice condition and much more, riggerous testing. It would have been very adequate and approriate to show some of that for a new Porsche introduction .
