Hm,this is what I was doing.
Step 1 - Steal anything not nailed down in Daggerfall, Wayrest and Evermore's armoury and castles (I'm only level 13 and skipped a few regions ahead.)
-Note, there's 5 people right next to the Daggerfall outlaw refuge that are easy to pickpocket, at level 7 I start with 95% success rate, you start by the wayshrine and go to the west, find Lysaux Niert (Easy) Continue west to the wall where Cattrice (Easy) is, then jump down the wall to find Gonda Morel (Easy) chopping wood,continue east to find Catherine Eriel and Danforth Montgrun (Both Easy) standing next to eachother.
Jump down again and look in the stable to find Hervia (Easy), it's very rare for any of them to notice you, and you can get 18 items ranging from white to green quality from them.
I tested this the other day, and I was able to start the cycle at the wayshrine, pickpocket everything they had on them and go to the outlaw refuge (And if you are caught, you're close enough to the outlaw refuge and the guards are weak enough to never defeat you even at low levels.) so you have a quick and easy escape route with almost no danger.
Doing it yesterday, I was getting around 2000 gold per 5 minutes, and by which point, the citizen's inventory respawned, allowing me to do the cycle over again.
And if the inventories were empty, then I hit up the castles and armories to get things to dissemble and sell. ^3^
Step 2 - Go to the Outlaw refuge when my inventory is full, sell any treasure and launder any weapon.
Step 3 - Dissemble all of the weapons and armours at the appropriate shop.
Step 4 - Keep the weapon and armour materials and sell the rest to the shop or guild shop. (I never tried the latter, it never actually occurred to me to try it.)
Step 5 - Go to the bank and deposit any materials you got and want to keep so it doesn't take up precious inventory space.
Step 6 - Rinse and repeat until you hit the fence / launder limit.
Doing this, I got my blacksmithing to level 22 in 3 days of starting the game and an overall 30,000 odd gold, which I mostly spent upgrading my bank and inventory limit.

I think they have nerfed this now, breaking down stolen items rarely gives you anything :(
Launder them first
Even laundered, voidsteel/voidcloth/etc VERY RARELY gives you mats, even if you have all perks, nor are they worth any gold. This isn't a good way to make gold or level up crafts anymore.

Steal, fence, steal, fence. That's what I've been doing. But I just do it with treasure. Any armor or weapons I end up deconstructing for inspiration. It's slow but I also don't buy much so it gets me what I need.
Also just doing Dark Brotherhood repeatables gives you a quick amount of cash.
Too bad I didn't play this game back when making gold was this easy. 😥😥😥

uhm no. that takes for ever. steal treasures and sell those. each worth 40-100-250-500.
if you want to get really rich, make a new char. go to the 5th zone in AD there is a town with fast respawning npcs (in the 100s npc range). get murdering, and keep blue stolen goods, sell those. if you work in a group, you can each have a murder char(will have VERY high bounty) and you can sneak and loot items of dead bodies and get no bounty. do this for every char and you'll get to sell 120 items(with one perk in ledermain) 120*250=30k per char.

If you want to lvl up crafting skills, those items give you the least experience. best to decraft white items and items with the intricate trait.

How would you update this? Since they changed how many materials you get from stolen items, making you have to launder them. I think.
Hans Yolo naah, when you deconstruct something stolen it gets 'cleaned', I'm a Redguard Dragonknight Master Thief, you can trust me.
HUS MAN 3/4 stolen items do not give any materials. And I'm saying that as a master crafter.
Hans Yolo huh you might be right as I have noticed that sometimes I don't get as much materials as I expected after deconstructing a ton of stolen armor.
HUS MAN It used to be that stolen or looted, you got a lot of ingots and other materials from each item, now I'm lucky to get 1 ingot from a stolen item.

In 2017, do these money videos, the crafting videos, etc etc. Does any of this stuff still work, or have patches and updates screwed people over?
Tyler Church patches have ruined this. Deconstructing stolen things no longer give materials (its like a 1 in 20 chance to get anything), deconstructing stolen stuff also gives next to zero xp.

As you can only fence 50 items per day, per character - if you have the time every day, just dump all the white (40g) "Treasures" you steal* and keep all the green (100g+) ones and up and then sell them to the fence.
If you have more than one character and lots of time (and a very high boredom threshold...), you could obviously do that on each of them, every day, if you wanted.
If you don't have the time, or the inclination, to selectively steal stuff for hours, you can always take and fence all the Treasures you find (including the white ones).
*Not really sure how I feel about stealing stuff in games?
There again, you're a in a world that still (legally and openly - unlike slave prison labour, or illicit domestic slavery, now) has slavery.
So, the moral questions about what exactly is a right, or wrong, "career" are even more obvious in ESO than they are in the real world.
I'm not one for these ESO videos but I thought I'd take a look, and I'm very impressed. This video video is brilliant and the editing it fantastic, cheers for tips. :)
