How Jesus Showed that He Was the Messiah of the Gentiles Too

- We tend to read through the Gospels as Jesus, the Israelite Messiah, the Jewish Messiah preaching to Jews, and we don't really get Gentiles involved until Acts chapter 10 with Cornelius. That is not the case. This is not a post-Jesus idea that he is here for the Gentile. He starts his ministry with that focus, they are included. He goes to Galilee to a synagogue (Jewish), and starts preaching to them about their inclusion. Check this out!

Luke 24:47 It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ -
Matthew 8:11-12 And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world-from east and west-and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven.But many Israelites-those for whom the Kingdom was prepared-will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” -

However, Jesus is clear in Matthew 15 to whom he came:
Matthew 15
24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the LOST SHEEP of the HOUSE of ISRAEL. 25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to DOGS.
Here, " the lost sheep of the house of Israel" are the ten tribes of Israel who lost their identity and lived in the northern part of Israel, including Galilee. "the dogs" are the Gentile nations.
There is difference between salvation and healing, and Luke wrote to us about HEALINGS of the people - of course, he was a doctor (physician). In (Matthew 8:11-12) we only see the proclamation of the future salvation of the Gentiles and the Gospel has been brought to the Gentiles during Paul's ministry, because only he was the Apostle to the Gentiles.

It will never disappear!“I will also bless the foreigners who commit themselves to the Lord, who serve him and love his name, who worship him and do not desecrate the Sabbath day of rest, and who hold fast to my covenant.I will bring them to my holy mountain of Jerusalem and will fill them with joy in my house of prayer. I will accept their burnt offerings and sacrifices, because my Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations.For the Sovereign Lord, who brings back the outcasts of Israel, says: I will bring others, too, besides my people Israel.” -
1st kings 8:41-43 “In the future, foreigners who do not belong to your people Israel will hear of you. They will come from distant lands because of your name,for they will hear of your great name and your strong hand and your powerful arm. And when they pray toward this Temple,then hear from heaven where you live, and grant what they ask of you. In this way, all the people of the earth will come to know and fear you, just as your own people Israel do. They, too, will know that this Temple I have built honors your name.

Because Luke was accompanying the Apostle to the Gentiles on his missionary journeys, namely, Paul… He was himself a Gentile, and his gospel was researched and written for the edification of a Gentile man named, ‘most excellent Theophilus’.

Will you please direct me to an article of yours or of someone you trust that talks about one or both of these two things:
1) What qualifies someone as being a false teacher?
2) At what point is someone preaching a different gospel?
With the power of UA-cam and Facebook, I'm coming across more and more believers calling out people and it's starting to concern me. It seems like some of these guys are implying that we should totally avoid listening to someone because they have interpreted a passage incorrectly. Depending what has been said, they'll go as far as to say that they are lost and intentionally leading people to hell. I know there are certain cases where a warning should go out, but some of this seems ridiculous.
There is not a single pastor who teaches exactly what the Bible says. Everyone is biased and has limited understanding, yet we are assured in 1 Corinthians 2:16 "we have mind of Christ" and we can understand God's intentions. We were promised the Holy Spirit who will lead us to the truth:
John 16
"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
So, search and ask the Holy Spirit to show you the truth. Start from fundamental doctrines: Are we mortal or immortal? Are we saved by grace only or by obeying the law and commandments? What are the commandments? What is the shape of the Earth? Is there everlasting Hell? What is Hell, grave or a place? Who is Jesus? Etc.

I have a feeling Dr. Heiser would say that a false teacher is one who says that Jesus is not the Christ (1 John 2:22)

But to say someone who is a continuationist is a false teacher? Or someone who is a cessationist is a false teacher? IMO I really don't think so.

Jesus was ministering to the Jews. However, read Matthew 28: 18-20 to see who it applies to

I agree he was speaking to believers but Mosaic law was still in effect which would make them Jews, I don’t recall a passage where Christ (himself) ministered to non Jews.
As Hieser says in this video, Jesus was run out of town for merely mentioning his gospel going to Gentiles.
I recall a Chuck Missler video where he says something like ‘the Pharisees were in the back of the room listening to Jesus minister, and seething’
But I certainly agreee that those that would sit and listen to Jesus became believers, the 1st Christians.
@williamcarr3976 agreed. But most teachers say Matthew 24 doesn't apply to Christians because Jesus was talking to the Jews, which is incorrect as he was speaking to his Disciples, not just any jews.
@@chief270202 Yes, as I understand he was speaking to his disciples, it says that in the text. I don't think it was a private conversation tho, there was also a public audience.
You have to go look at Matthew 28 to see the connection. Jesus is giving HIS COMMANDS in Matthew, Chapters 5,6,7, to his disciples. In Matthew 28, Jesus tells his disciples to "make disciples of ALL nations"
and "teach them to obey MY commands".
My view of Matthew 24 is Jesus is prophesying to his disciples about the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.
He is warning his disciples and therefore followers, to get out when they see the signs.
Preterists believe that has already happened and futurists believe its in the future.
My Belief:
It's a warning to followers of Christ, that lived in Israel, at the time of the destruction of Israel, in 70 AD.

The rest of that story shows how by the faith of the Canaanite woman, her daughter was healed. That is the nutshelled message of the Gospel really, Jesus is Lord and Savior to all who will believe.

@@gregs5816 *They're afraid of Paul because they can't really understand him. Once you understand how Paul thinks its very easy to understand Paul's writings. In fact, Id say they are the simplest not the most complicated of any writings in the Biblical Library. You have to get inside the mind and intent of the writer. The farther you go back the more difficult and impossible at times that becomes. But with Paul we know enough about him historically that we should have no problem getting inside his head. He thought like a lawyer. He communicated like a lawyer. Thats why people fumble through Romans and cant understand whats happening. Paul has his lawyer hat on for over a 1/3rd of that letter. Just have to get inside the writer's head.*

Because that is the translation he chose. Why don’t you look up the original language that it was translated from, then you can see the idea or ideas that the writer was trying to convey. Concordance or Hebrew dictionary. Get 6 different translations and compare them to each other.
Ancient Middle Eastern culture, writing style, and text do not easily translate to modern western thinking.

The mission was to gather the diaspora out in the "nations". It was a bringing back of those lost over and over again, and the restoration was the goal. Then all Israel would be saved.
Nope, he came to bring all nations ….. that is ALL people into the Kingdom.
@@deborahgrantham7387 no it's not. Quit trying to write yourself into the story. The end was to come within a lifetime. Israel was to be restored. Just like before, and just like Yahweh said he was going to do. Those Israelites out in the nations were to be brought back in so that all of Israel would be saved. Saved from what? Saved from the death and destruction they were facing when Paul wrote his letters. The same destruction and death that was soon to happen.

As I understand, both numbers (70 and 72) are symbolic and mean ALL. As in, All the elders or All the nations. For some reason they used those 2 numbers in place
God is for the Gentiles way back In Isaiah 45:22, and 49:6

I am a Gentile. What does this mean for me today, living almost 2000 years after these events?

Exactly, because at that time Jesus came ONLY to the lost House of Israel and not the Gentile nations aka dogs. Later however - when Juda - rejected Christ and crucified him the Gospel has been directed to the Gentiles to shame the Jews, because the Gentiles - like the woman called dog - had more faith than Jesus could find in Juda.

Here, " the lost sheep of the house of Israel" are the ten tribes of Israel who lost their identity. This happened after the kingdom of Israel has been divided into Israel on the North and Juda on the South. Galilee is part of the northern part and was inhabited by Israelites who lived like Gentiles, but they are not the Gentiles. The Gentiles were "dogs" to Jesus.
Later, Peter had vision about descending table with unclean foods and understood that the Gentiles can be indeed saved. He was sent to the house of Cornelius - Roman citizen. This is the only case when Roman citizen has been saved.
The Gospel has been brought to the Gentiles nations only through Paul's ministry. Pay attention to the group of people: 12 tribes of Isrelites who split into 10 tribes (the lost tribes) and 2 tribes in Judea (Pharisee, Sadducee, the priesthood, scholars etc.), the Gentile nations.
How can someone determine if they are a descendant of one of the lost tribes?
@@triple-e427 We can’t. The tribes lost their identity, however in the times of Jesus they lived in the northern part of Israel which is where Jesus went. The tribes ceased to exist when the intermarried with the Gentiles. However the Book of Revelation implies that God will restore all 12 tribes in the future.
The apostles were preaching the Kingdom Gospel; not our gospel for today. Our gospel is in ICor 15. How that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. The apostles didn't realize that the Lord Jesus was to day until much later in the scriptures. Jesus, in Matthew told them NOT to go in the way of the gentiles. OUR gospel is not in the books called the gospels. Those people are preaching the Kingdom promised to the Jews. Jesus told one woman, "you worship ye know not what. We know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews. Read the book instead of some seminary study course.

Satan was the accuser of the brethren night and day. Now in regards to the timeframe in which the above verses transpire. The word woe in verse 12 answers that question. The three woes are linked to the last three trumpets.
Revelation 8:13 KJVS
[13] And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
The 3 woes take place during the tribulation. Which also establishes the fact that the woman in Revelation 12 is not Mary and the man child is not Jesus but represents the rapture of most of the body of Christ.

Apostle Paul was given a dispensation by God to preach the revelation of the mystery of God, which fulfilled the word of God, Col 1:25. A short word study on the word mystery as it appears in the New Testament is helpful if one is unfamiliar with this mystery. Paul writes of this mystery in the often quoted verses in the 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 KJVS
[51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
At the seventh trumpet the members of the body will receive their glorified bodies and rule and reign with Jesus Christ for a thousand years, Rev 20:6. Which will be God’s glory in the kingdom to come, 1 Th 2:12. A interesting aspect of the mystery of God, mystery of Christ, is that God has to make known to a individual, what is the riches of the glory surrounding this mystery. So many bible experts do not understand this mystery because it is not given for them to know or it.

The last trump/trumpet that sounds in the book of Revelation is the seventh trumpet and that is when the mystery of God is finished.

Also almost every where ive read,the baby is Jesus in this scripture, why end up with a different conclusion?

Have you watched Dr Heiser's video when he uses astronomy or astrophysics software and plugs in the events (constellations and their movements) from Revelation 12?? If you have not, you need to watch it. It comes through so clear and accurate it makes me shiver.
@@dedanmsafari8213 The second woe takes place after the two witnesses have died, and then resurrected and taken up in the heaven. And there’s a great earthquake in Jerusalem. That is the second woe.

Keep in mind Re 8:13 state that the three woes are linked with the 5-7 trumpets. Satan cast down to earth is the third woe, Re 12:12.

The rapture takes place at the seventh trumpet..

God is not a man, God is not the messiah, God is not a prophet, God is not a servant, God is not the 2nd Adam.
But God anoints a MAN to be all these things.

He wasn't just some regular man that God anointed. He was born virgin birth and was without sin.
That doesn't even make sense to say He was anointed . I mean Holy spirit came down and identified Him this is my son who is well pleased. Which was annointing of Holy spirit to start His ministey on earth of healing and casting out demons Or mount hermon the transfiguration of the Lord. Where He revealed Himself as God. He asked Peter who I am and Peter replied and Jesus said you only knew that because I made it known to you.
But before His ministry . He was a man still about His father's business. WITHOUT sin

Ask someone today if they are saved and
you will most likely hear responses like these:
“I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I
have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been
baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good
and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually
knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what
the gospel is and has left a devastating effect
of people not knowing what it is that they are
saved from nor how they are saved; which
leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation.
Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church
sounding phrases that do not communicate
anything. But rather present God’s word with
clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel:
plain and simple.
Sin was passed upon all men by one man
Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin
(Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of
condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of
this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good
works one might do we are still found sinners
in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found
righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even
one law we are found guilty.
It is for this reason of not being able to
create our own righteousness and being born
in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus
3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in
the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross
2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath
and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial,
and resurrection on our behalf that we are
able to have peace with God and forgiveness
of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good
news is unto all but only those that believe in
it are made righteous in Christ (Romans
3:22).
It is then after we have heard this good
news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit
and we are now part of Christ’s body the
church (Eph 1:13)
There is nothing that we need to do, no
good works that are required, and no bad
works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39).
Faith and belief in this information from
God’s word is the gospel.
The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your
heart. The gospel is not making him lord of
your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not
being baptized with water.
So next time someone asks you if you are
saved. Give them the clear assured answer
“Yes! And let me tell you why
