First race I attended was a 1970 Trans Am at Laguna Seca. Parnelli Jones won in a Mustang, followed in second by Mark Donohue in a Javelin. No Trans Am out here in CA. Too bad.
Sad that TA doesn't have a bigger field. Sucks even more that TA2 seems more OG TA than these new TA cars. Sucks the most that this series doesn't get more national support since the racing when the field is packed and close is amazing.
I'm confused about what's happening directly after the 33:00 mark. Ernie Francis Jr. comes into view and the camera follows him through the corner. Then while the announcer is in the middle of a sentence the screen switches to Drissi's car sitting there after it has spun out. It's obviously the exact same corner Ernie Francis Jr. just drove through and Drissi had to have been spinning right behind him but he wasn't even in the shot of Francis Jr. so he wasn't that close. Also there was no sound of screeching tires. Then they show a replay of Drissi spinning but how could the camera be pointed at Francis Jr. leaving the corner and also be pointed at Drissi entering the corner and spinning? Two cameras at the same spot? Then they show a view from the front of Drissi's car and Francis Jr. isn't anywhere to be seen in front of him. Are the announcers watching a pre-recorded, edited video and doing commentary over it? And it's definitely the same corner.
Perhaps a tape slice. Another splice was 16:35 after Amy spun they showed her pitting, seemingly all under Green conditions. She then drove out of the pit as they went to commercial. When they came they ran a little canned feature on Ernie, them BOOM, a restart occurred, with no mention of a caution period. Weird!
It seems like the announcers are doing commentary over an edited video because what they are saying doesn't seem spliced. He was in mid-sentence when he was interrupted by the other guy yelling about the spin.
