Growing up in nearby Rhode Island in the 80's, Fenway Was baseball for me. As an adult I've only been back there a handful of times as I now reside in SF ( home of the Second best ballpark ), but each time I reentered those Hallowed Halls and seen the field and the Monster looming in left, it sent the same chills down my spine as it did some 30+ years ago! Fenway park IS Baseball!
In 1979, when I was 4, my dad took me to Fenway, sitting on one of the cramped seats. In 2022, on the 4th of July, I took my 11-year-old son to Fenway, Sox vs Rays. We sat on the Monster seats section 8 (CF). I got a ball tossed up the wall by Jarren Duran after warm up in between innings, my son saw me catch it, I gave it to him, we hugged and high-fived each other. $350 a seat worth every penny. Life came full circle for me. And having witnessed 4 Red Sox World Series titles in my lifetime (including 2013 when they won it at home 13:06), I've graduated from the Boston Red Sox University with Summa Cum Laude honors at the age of 47. Thank You, Lord 🙏🏻
Fenway and Wrigley Field stand alone in terms of historic, iconic, and a completely awesome experience to see a baseball game. I've been lucky enough to attend both and it's impossible to say which one is the best. However, if you are going to Wrigley, make sure you get a chance to sit in the outfield bleachers for at least one game. No other stadium would list the outfield as a high priority, but the scene in Wrigley outfield bleachers is unlike any other.
Imagine if Rome had knocked down the Colosseum after 80 years so they could build a new, uglier arena with a few more "creature comforts" - and then did the same 80 years later ad nauseum. We are so quick to erase our own history for a few more bells and whistles. We did it here in NYC, and while the new Yankee Stadium is beautiful, you know it'll be demolished in a few decades. Chicago and Boston must keep Wrigley and Fenway as is for the sake of all of us. The Red Sox are my team's biggest rival and even I got emotional when I finally got to see Fenway in person
I'm sure he thinks differently since the Savannah Bananas gave him back his rightful spot on the mound at Fenway earlier this year!! Haha. Nah...he wouldn't change his mind for that. LOL
As a lifelong baseball fan, one of my bucket list experiences was getting to see a game at Fenway. It was awesome, but I was disappointed that there were no beer vendors so if you wanted a beer you had to go to the concession stand. I’ve also been to games at Wrigley Field, old Yankee Stadium, and the old Tiger Stadium.

@@MrConorOBrien good to know. In our section (lower deck, right field corner 20 ish rows back), we didn’t see one the whole game. But this was over 10 years ago…
I have had many happy memories at Fenway, but the team has underwhelmed in recent years while the ownership keeps increasing prices. The Worcester Red Sox is a much better option for kids. Once the current owners sell the team, the park will become a museum. Enjoy it while it lasts, folks.
Is this whole video made and edited with AI? I noticed several shots not making sense, using footage from other stadium's renovations instead of Fenway's, and images having been made using AI.
@timothyharris9252 it's not like they need the money. Just greed at the expense of the fans. When a minor league is struggling financially and needs to plaster ads, I get it. But pro level, cmon
Lifelong Bostonian here, Fenway Park is a dump, the tenement by the turnpike. It's not "the cathedral of Boston" nor is it "America's most beloved ballpark". It's small, cramped, decrepit, seats in right field that face the outfield, etc.
From just up the road in the north shore. Agreed. Shit hole. And the team/owners are so disappointing the whole place is just a tourist trap. The beloved ballpark is trash and should’ve been redone as the NYY stadium was years ago.
I finally got to go to Fenway. What an overated crappy place. It's cramped. Filthy. Bad sight lines. Smells like a toilet. Take it off your bucket list.
@@scottstewart5784 I remember them only being a few inches of the floor. Water flowed in on the left and drained on the right. I could have just got the lower end.

Bill Lee also said, placing electron scoreboard in Fenway is like placing fuzzy pick dice on the mirror of a Rolls Royce.

I am so greatful that i live around 4 hours away! And i can get to boston for free!
Anybody wonder why yawkey was so beloved even before the racism remarks?
Eventually they need new stadium
MLB is looking more like money strapped russian hockey teams with all their ads.
You bring up a good point. I remember when the only 'ad' in Fenway was the Jimmy Fund sign on the roof in right field.

It's a BALL PARK.
I have two words about Fenway: trough urinals.

I found the yankees fan!
Other than the poor site lines. It has improved 1000% over 30 years ago. It also has some of, if not, the greatest seat location in all of MBL.
Go back to 1973, when I was just tall enough to piss into the troughs they used to have. Better now.
