You have changed my mind! Great explanation of the Scott Tennant book, in the past I didn't see much sense in using it.

Thankyou-very informative, I'm half way through Noad's Volume 1 which combined with Tizoc Estrada UA-cam videos is great way to learn. The other books I'm using for technique are Kappel (The Bible of Classical Guitar Technique), Gilbert Biberian (Liber -the Book of Guitar, Vol.1) & Scott Tennant (Pumping Nylon)
Question from an absolute novice: Is it possible to teach oneself to play classical guitar--with no prior training--from books? Or must one at least begin with an instructor before he is able to go off on his own?
@@Nanjayal do you think one can self taught themselves classical guitar and play it professionally without a teacher and just by books and through online? I want to be a classical guitartist and violinist but my country doesn't have a single classical music teacher :(
@@psyche_333 Yes you can learn through books and online instruction. But choose your online instructors carefully. Some books I would recommend are, Solo Guitar playing 1 and 2 by F. Noad, A Modern approach to Classical Guitar by Tim Duncan, and books by Aaron Shearer.

Yes you can do it. But having a music teacher will help you improve much faster
Yes I learnt through books. But get a teacher if you can or at least with people who can play.

I M a fairly advanced classical guitarist and let me tell u can’t learn on your own. Proper technique is the key to be able to play.
What are some books for you to learn music pieces?
Some of the methods covered have great pieces to learn, especially the Noad Books I and II.
You can also get "100 Graded Studies For Classical Guitar" by F. Noad.
