Hi, Could you do one on the subject of research. At what point of writer's room does it occur (say trying to make a period drama as close to historically accurate, or a Sci Fi or medical show in which you want to get the science right)

I'm not a TV Director (not as of yet) so I can't really tell you about that, though I've worked alongside them (see the TV Writer On Set playlist for some insights). As for being a producer, it depends on what you mean by that. In TV, "producer" can mean many things. Writers of a certain level have the title of producer (I'm a Co-Executive Producer), but also there are non-writing producers who handle logistical things (like deal with budgets or hiring or travel). In film, producers are (by and large) money people. For insights into writer/producer duties in TV, see the TV Writer On Set playlist - that's where I cover those duties from a writer's perspective. If you still have questions after that, let me know.
