Correction: As has been pointed out the year is 1961, not 1962.

The same year with the Caribbean nutklear crisis would be too much !
When the wall was erected, simultaneously at Tushino the sovs displayed their newest flying baddies, a B-58 red wannabe inkluded.

@@ElonMasks Both had to do with tense moments during the war, but the Missile Crisis is definitely more recognized than the Standoff at Checkpoint Charlie.
Though I will say, TSACC was more tense given the Russians and Americans were RIGHT IN FRONT OF EACH OTHER. Roughly 65.58 meters from each other, with both sides threatening to fire at each other, and that's terrifying.

The only real advantage the M48 has was optics and visibility, but the T-55 was definitely superior in many other regards. I mean, damn near half the world has used one (and many STILL do) at some point in their history.

Unimpressive, sadly. The map of divided Germany is incomplete; nothing about the eastern areas that were under Polish and Soviet administration. Germany was not the only country divided after 1945; two others were Korea and Vietnam. Nothing on the reasons why Berlin was divided, and how the border was fortified after 13 August 1961.
