Synopsis:
In the turbulent autumn of the Republic of China, everything changed. Jiang YueLou who is commissioner of Police is both good and evil, making smuggling criminals frightened. When investigating an opium case in Hong Kong, he met Chu Ran and Chen Yuzhi, and the three became friends. What makes Chinese drama extraordinary and the best. maybe be because they don't have all those kiss and intimate scene but we can feel love through their actions, more over their eyes speaks because they look into eachothers eyes so deeply. They don't call eachother boyfriend or wifey but they call soul mate...
I read BL novels, yaoi manga/hua/hwa, but I never watched Live Drama tagged as BL. Lol... When I saw two guys kissing I already closed the browser. It's fine with 2D but not the real one. So I prefer bromance. No actual love. No female lead. That's the best...

Only 12 minutes into the drama and this production is already through the roof. Superb acting, a very nice, decent musical backdrop, strong characters, nice sets and beautiful attire. Scenes pleasently free from overdrawn sequences.

Why is this series so underrated? This is a true masterpiece..It's a gem..I fell in love with it from 1st ep..I hope it gets the attention it truly deserves..Mao Zijun and Yi Bochen really did great in their acting and so the other actors..I commend all of them..people,dn't sleep on this series! You're missing half of your life..😔

Notice that all the comments are in English. Where are the Chinese viewers? I must agree with the acting and superb scenes. Really love the interior of Zhan's home with all that wood paneling. While the acting is great, I think the writer turned off many Chinese viewers with all that killing and bloodshed. Even the ending had to be revised.

I don't know how youtube knows this, but it's like it's aware that i finish one drama or put it down then recommends a new one without me having to look.
Like, it saw that i watched some untamed bts and went, huh you must like wang yibo, and offered up legend of fei for me to watch, which i am.
Tbh i'm not THAT mad at China's censorship as i continue to watch all the dramas they adapt from BL novels. Since this allows the actors to convey the "love" from their actions and gazes instead. The love and longing that they would pour out of their eyes is impeccable. ✨ And the chemistry they would produce to make up for the censorship is really too good. ✌️

In all honesty same. I want kisses and hugs but I can’t describe in words how much the censored bls hit different. It’s like a different type of intimacy that is set in gazes and small actions throughout the show. They show genuine romance
I do not like censorship. I HATE it. But through the limitations, they've inadvertently made the romance stronger, somehow, because they're forced to be more creative. Oftentimes romances have to rely on very explicit actions to convey love, it becomes a crutch. I hope one day, if censorship is ever removed, a good balance of the two is created.

@@sksarifuddin488 yes, but you can just stop watching at minute 29:13 on the last episode and it will look like a happy ending. Many people say what happened after that is unnecessary and does not make any sense, so you could just look untill 29:13 and consider that the true ending😊
Anyone else rewatching after that last episode? I think I need emotional therapy. 😂😭😭😭 This show is so good though, and I can't get over how talented the two leads are. They're able to say so much with just their eyes.

Funnily enough, Jiang Yuelou (Mao Zijun) was the original actor chosen to play Zhou Zishu in Word of Honor. I think things worked out well for both dramas.

It only hit me halfway through this episode but the actor playing the police is really good??? I mean his gaze and everything literally portrays the unhingedness of his character through the screen and it makes my anxiety shoot up 100x everytime he appears. Hopefully this isnt another bad ending drama,,,, i dont think i can take that much after watching guardian,,
It is a tragic ending just as heart wrenching as Guardian BUT soooooo worth watching, their love for each other is so easily seen.
The level of acting, production and the picture cinematography is a PIECE OF ART. I'm in love with this series, just with the first episode.

Agree. I also love Chinese style of bromance/bl dramas even there are no kisses. Their dramas always deliver some message and tell the story that evolve two people into the relationship. It is something very deep not just falling in love at first sight.
