Thank you so much for this! I recently got one of these cars and thought after my oil change something else needed maintenance, and I was afraid something was going wrong! Glad to know it just needs a manual reset! 😊
A little clarification on something that I personally was confused about while testing this - when preparing to complete the reset, starting holding the button down FIRST BEFORE putting the key in the ignition and moving it to the ON position (do not fully move it to START while holding the button) - for me it felt like I was holding the button for roughly 7ish seconds after turning the ignition to ON but just keep holding until your screen matches what you see here in the video thanks for the video it was very useful not even the local valvoline in my area knew how to reset it!
Make sure yall are checking ur oil if it full and still clean just rest it keep an eye last time I went for a change they told me I didn't need one oil still clean if I would of checked myself would of save some fuel.. and thank the fellas at that place for being honest
Hello Sir thank you I really enjoy these videos. Can you please give me some advice? My 2007 Tacoma 2.7 liter 4cyl, owners manual states that I need 6.1 quarts of 0w20. I poured only the 6.0 quarts and then checked it, it looks way over full. What’s your opinion? Maybe you can direct me to correct this. Thank you!
I wish I didn't have to drive 2000 miles for your honest mechanical skills! It always irked me with that mandatory alarm light simply for an oil change. Somehow my 2005 Camry stopped doing it...maybe disabled by someone. Cars had idiot lights...now the new ones tell you how to drive as well, like if you're out of your lane, etc. Let me do the driving, please!
I have the push start stop. Set to Trip A if not on it already. Turn Off the ignition Push the trip button and hold while turning on the car (double push) with the foot off the brake. Wait for the dashes to end, 00000 to come up and release. Turn off car off from accessory mode. If it is already on trip A, you can just hold the trip button while turning on the ignition with the double push, wait for it to clear, then turn off the car. The whole secret is to hold the trip button down when set to "A" and turn on the accessories. It will reset in 3 seconds and then do whatever you want after that.
Step 1: Press odo to show trip A while car is on Step 2: Turn car off Step 3: Hold Odo button and Turn key just before the start up and itll display resetting maintenance data. Hold until complete Done.

No, oil change will not be off track at all. The system will start to monitor on the day it was being reset.

The Toyota corolla the last Toyota that doesn't suck
The SE has the color screen (and XSE). The LE is the cheaper trim.

You really overcomplicated that

My local dealer won't even do that. I have to reset it myself when they change the oil

Came back to this after an oil change
Tank you
I wonder if the maintenance light on a 2016 Highlander is reset the same way?
Likely...my 2016 Corolla and 2011 Tacoma reset the same way...you're owner's manual should have instructions.
I’ve had real good luck with the Chilton on-line manual....
