Am 70 years old and watched the original 1967 show..
I remember space ghost when I was a kid back in the 1960s . It was one of my favorite cartoons on Saturday mornings along with the herculoids and mighty mightor .Hanna barbera was on fire with their superhero lineup. I cherish those moments.
Hanna barbera was king of the Saturday morning cartoon industry during that time they even produced the fantastic four cartoon series in 1967 . The herculoids was their version of the fantastic four.
In my 55 years on this planet and my 49-plus years of knowing about Space Ghost, this is my first time knowing about his origin, and it should be good; thank you, Variant Comics for the info and I will support the comics because of this video you all put out....

I watched reruns of og Space Ghost as a kid, then Coast to Coast was hilarious as a young adult. Sometimes I still watch the reruns of that on YT.

I know this would have been asking for a bit much, but I so wanted to have Variant Comics show the scene where Space Ghost (SGC2C) is tracking a normal sized ant back to its layer and then, throughout the episode, you just have Space Ghost slowly walking across the bottom of the screen, tracking said ant.

In the 1960's there was a Gold Key comic which featured facts about Space Ghost which were left out of the series. Space Ghost was given a mentor that he communicated with by telepathy that came from "the anti-galaxy" the format resembled Chandu the Magician a popular radio show of the 1930's and 40's. Like Space Ghost Chandu had boy and girl twin teenage sidekicks. The mentor that communicated telepathically was used in the early version of Dr. Strange.
One explanation, in the 1960's novels and comics based on TV and movies were written months before the series would by on air or in theaters often using early drafts of scripts, sometimes parts that did not make the final cut would be in the book or comics that had been cut.

I know Space Ghost from the 70s Saturday morning cartoons, and I didn't look at that crap on the cartoon network because I thought it was embarrassing to the Saturday morning cartoon, and Space Ghost isn't a joke character to be sitting behind a desk like Plastic Man, Booster Gold, or Deadpool; he belongs in space kicking a$$
If you were born in the 80' you know him from the original cartoon, if you were born in 2000, you know nothing lol

I'm thrilled that we are getting to see the OG Space Ghost back in action. I know that most people only know about Space Ghost Coast to Coast. However, before that, there was the OG Space Ghost that was all about fighting against evildoers. I read the first issue and as a huge fan of the character, I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing how this series plays out! 🙂

Coast to Coast was one of the best shows of my childhood on CN. I also watched the OG show back when they showed OG cartoons on CN before Boomerang.
I remember watching the OG space ghost via Boomerang it was pretty interesting.

Every Saturday or Sunday morning, I watched Space Ghost. I disliked Coast to Coast but this is fabulous! Definitely buying these. A serious Space Ghost is more fitting.

I fondly remember Space Ghot from my Saturday morning Hanna-Barbera fix, and I think it's interesting how DC went as far as to give him a back story he never had, that I remember anyway. I liked what they did with it, from what I saw. The Dynamite Comics version looks good, too. You can tell they're fans and wanted to do it justice, unlike most comic companies these days. Looks good!

I think they did a phenomenal job on this comic. It has redefined Space Ghost as a serious Superhero/Vigilante that he was meant to be in the comics. I hope at some point we get a serious animated movie with him. I think that would be awesome.
At Least Space Ghost Is More Relevant Than 1/3 of DC's obscure heroes I hope we get a new animated series as much as I'm anticipated Flintstones spinoff Bedrock and Dreading the recently announced Live Action Scooby Doo Teen Drama series If WB casts Madelaine Petsch as Daphne Blake she's going to be my Chris Evans or Ryan Reynolds just sayin'
I have loved Space Ghost since I was kid, and I'm 58. I watched the Coast to Coast program once and was embarrassed by what they did to a great hero. I am glad to see that he is being given a quality rebirth. Bravo!
Grew up in the 60's watching this, along with similar cartoons such as Jonny Quest, Clutch Cargo and other original programming. I had my fun so who cares what anyone does with the relics of my past as long as it isn't a waste and someone appreciates it.

Definitely ready for this comic! It’s in my read pile from this week. As a child of the eighties, I can remember catching reruns of the original Space Ghost, Jonny Quest and Thundarr before the regular Saturday morning cartoons started. And then a few years later catching random episodes on USA Cartoon Express and then Cartoon Network. I agree that Coast to Coast did a real disservice to the character. I haven’t fully read the DC miniseries yet, but randomly find an issue here and there, so will eventually have tho whole thing to read in a sitting.
Dressed up as space ghost in like 4th grade. Mom made the costume. It was like 97 I think. I watched alot of Hanna Barbara cartoons growing up and space ghost was probably my favorite even before cartoon planet and coast to coast started airing
