- Legendary surf fisherman Steve Mckenna stopped by The Saltwater Edge in late March to talk to us about his method of fishing Slug-go soft baits in the surf. His technique has brought tons of big fish in. You can see evidence of that in his On The Water video here: www.onthewater.com/seasons/se....

Steve is great. He’s helped me a lot over the years. And probably has no idea what my name is. It doesn’t matter. It’s helping out a younger guy that matters to him.
Steve is THE man. I learned this technique from him about 15 years ago.
I rigged my own sluggos based off of the old how to video Steve did. I really appreciate all the tips & knowledge he’s shared. I find myself listening to the podcast episode w/Steve over & over, he’s a great speaker, very detailed & concise info. 👍👍 thanks Peter & Steve for all the excellent content !
Great to hear!
This is awesome. Love all the stories and context.
thanks for doing this video, much appreciated, hi from Virginia
Been watching some of the vids here and I'm a new subscriber! Just an awesome channel and very educational and with some really heart pumping adrenaline pumping action 💥💥😃❤️
Fantastic stuff. Can wait to do it. On average how many fish does it last?
It really depends on the fish and the conditions, you can get a whole night or two out of one, or one fish can do some damage.
Nice

Great video, which 7/0 Gamakatsu hook does Steve use for rigging his slugs?
It is the 7/0 Octopus saltwateredge.com/products/gamakatsu-octopus-hooks
Has Steve ever found that retrieve is too fast?
He has never said so!
