Listen, guys, let's not pretend this was a great job,it is what it is,a total afterthought, nothing was right,a BFM,it's in ,it's safe,I hope,I hope learned a lot,and have a better understanding of these units.
    Do I like them?
NO,I totally prefer an electric tank type water heater.
Gas is a different story, but they are also not problem free.
    Just so I'm clear 😂😂😂😂😂

I watch all your videos Johnny
As a Union electrician there needs to be connectors on that liquid tight .
The electrician will need to shorten the liquid tight and put connectors on
The homeowner needs to have him come back .
I realize you needed to get it up and running to test it and make sure all is good .

That needs liquid tight connectors where the electric goes into the bottom of the unit. Loosen top conduit connector at box pull down amount you need to cut off then push it back up and install the bottom connectors

were is ur clamps for the wires so they can't move and be yanked out from the unit. there should be 2 clamps just like there is on the shut off boxes. it also protects the wire from rubbing on the metal. just like at the power panel u don't just shove the wires loosely though the holes u need to put a clamp on each one to prevent the wires from rubbing on the hole.

@mraaron1584 i do not stock electrical supplies,I told him to tell the electrician to leave me what I would need, and he didn't leave any.
I do believe they are the type that can be put in after.
But to be honest, those heavy ass wires aren't going anywhere, will never be a problem,I'd bet on that

@@johnphillipsplumbing7148 its more of a code thing if an inspector saw that they would be busting ur ass and making u fix it. but u never know to if some kid was playin around there and grabbed one of the wires and yanked on it they could pull it out without the clamp the only thing really holding it in there is the screws holding the wires in place. the electrician should have left a couple or ud think they would have came with the unit but i guess they just expect u to know what u need.

Johnny…that heater is still not hooked up correctly on the Electrical side. The feed side of those disconnects need to be landed on 2 separate 2 pole GFCI. 40 amp breakers in main panel ( reference page 12 of electrical specifications ). If both lines are connected to 1 45 amp double pole breaker that handle will trip in main panel on hi demand of hot water usage. Connectors on the liquid tight is a must, and if there is ever a next time. Use a bug nut on 2 grounds with a mastic pad and land 1 number 8 ground to that single ground terminal on heater.👍 Johnny’s installing tankless.👊🏼😂

I am not crazy about them either. poor recovery. Expensive way to heat hot water ? Would think it would have poor pressure. Is there a flow restrictor ? It would have been good to have electrician come back to run lines to it not knowing how much cable needed for connection. You did the best you could with what you had to work with. Looks good Johnny. That conduit is pretty stiff. Hard to make the bend. I might have dropped the CPVC pipes towards the floor and let the flex supplies hang straight down and anchor the CPVC pipes to the wall. No stress to flex lines or CPVC . Might look weird, tight spot to work in. The tip covers your materials. I was surprised the heater kept up with multiple faucets running.

I am guessing that he is referring to the fact that you didn’t secure the flexible conduit (liquid tight) to the water heater frame using the appropriate liquid tight fittings. Note the fittings where the conduit exits the electrical disconnect boxes above the water heater. The conduit should not have entered the water heater “box”, only the individual wires. Easy thing to fix, though.
