Hey Kevin and Simon! Thank you guys, so much, for this very comprehensive session on Solar Imaging. I think this has been one of the best, if not the BEST, video's I have ever watched on the subject. I learned so much here today. I particularly liked how Simon showed us how to use the Histogram to bring out the Proms and the Limb adjustment and make other fine adjustments that I always "tried" to make with the Exposure and Gain settings. No longer! From now on it's "Simon's Histogram" way!
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be here for the live session and I did have a question I wanted to ask. My question was about my new Solar camera, which is the ASI432MM and Simon hit the nail on the head, for me, near the end of the session. So, thank you for that. It seems like I made the correct choice in purchasing this camera to use with my ED 127mm x 950mm f/7.5. I use an ERF with my Quark and I also put a ZWO 1 1/4" UV/IR Cut filter screwed right into the end of the Quark and it still gets very hot. But, I get beautiful images and very high frame rates in my videos as long as I keep the exposure times down around 8 - 10 ms.
Anyway, I just want to say thank you one more time, so, THANK YOU!. This was an EXCELLENT session! I'm sure I will be watching it many more times in the future! 😁👍✌
    Sincerely, Richard Williams

For this episode Simon was using a Sky-Watcher Evostar 150DX refactor, Daystar Gemini Quark solar filter and a Player One Apollo-M MAX camera.

Great resolution from 98milion miles with a tiny telescope. How's that possible?

My retailer said that using my refractor with the Altair Astro Herschel wedge, I wouldn't need a filter over the front of my telescope. I have a William Optics Zenithstar 61 mm. Will it damage the coatings on my objective lens under extended viewing conditions?

for a few hours, you're fine, if it's over several hours and days then the coating will fade.
