The SL2 was released about 3 years ago then about 6 months ago I noticed Leica was putting out SL2 videos and sending them to some UA-camrs for review. That was the clear indication that a new model was about six months out. Leica does this regularly to try to get some old stock out the door before the new model is announced.

The SL2 came out in 2019, almost 5 years ago. However the SL2-S came out more recently and has been pushed more as video/creator camera for sure.

I watched your UA-cam channel Very nice videos on your channel, I have watched all your uploaded videos and noticed all the videos are nice. But there is a small problem. Your video uploads have to do some work like (SEO) and help in getting future video views. You are working so hard just to get views, now if the views don't come then your hard work is useless. 📸 The stuff that DREAMS are made of & if you don’t have a dream how can you make it come true. Like a good ROLEX watch a LEICA SL3 is a good investment and wonderful camera to have as a family heirloom to hand down to the next generation of photographer filmmaker. I now know what I am working towards and saving up for.✌🏻😎🇦🇺 fyi - $20k to $30k camera & a couple of lenses (AUD)

It is interesting to hear Leica brag about technologies Sony implemented years ago, but Leica doesn't do each of them as well. People are paying a lot for "heritage."

@@DavidGBlair oh you definitely buy a Leica because it's a beautiful object you find satisfaction and joy from using, not because it has the latest and greatest technology. Even by the time the film M series really started even having a built-in light meter, the SLR makers were about to implement autofocus.

Lets not lose sight of the fact that these cameras are made in a first world country paying first world wages ,taxes and benefits, rather than being made in the third world. I think that that difference accounts for a substantial amount of what is often perceived as just a branding premium. I wonder what an American made camera would have to retail for in order to be profitable?

USB in camera charging is already on the SL2.
