    Another important point, as youre deadlifting the bag to your lap, squeeze it as hard as you can like youre doing a dumbbell fly against the bag. Imagine youre trying to squeeze so hard that you cause the bag to rip. This will help you get the bag up much easier

    Brian I wanna thank you for promoting carries the way you do. I started doing front carries with plates, and it did something for my neck. My neck pain has completely gone away, and I can turn my head all the way to the left again. To top it off the muscles in my neck were sore. They were helping me hold my chest up against the plates. I was getting some relief from front squats, but not to this extent. When I get past the car issues I have I'm buying some of your shit. Your info is Gold standard bro.

    Never thought DOMS in your fingers was a thing until I started grappling with a sandbag. Turns out it is..

    Follow up on the EDC program: my biceps are so sore from the sandbag exercises. I never truly realized how much bicep engagement is needed to hold and lift the sandbag.

    Greatly needed this! The amount of detail here is so useful and I can't wait to put these techniques to practice. I was able to lift a 95kg Sandbag to shoulder back around April and with this new knowledge I'm sure I'll crack 100 (with practice first) in no time!

    Interesting point about grabbing over rather than under, at first I assumed under as well but it makes sense now that you’ve explained why not to do that

      Grabbing over the bag also protects your biceps. Past a certain point, you're not going to be able to safely curl the bag and trying to will just result in injury. The same thing applies to something like an atlas stone

    Love this vid. What do you recommend if 1 shoulder is not capable of Over the Shoulder? Can get a bag over right side but left is pain not worth bearing. Probably not smart to do 100% of over shoulder work to 1 side.

    Hi Brian, any pointers for when you can't wrap your arms around a bag? I'm 5', only 120lbs but a 120lb bag is still too large for me to get around so it tends to slip down during longer carries. Just got to work on crushing it to my chest harder?

    • @BrianAlsruheOfficial
      @BrianAlsruheOfficial  2 роки тому +3

      Yep, just gotta keep squeezing. As the bags get bigger and heavier, no on can continue to have their hands wrapped. Just gotta hold on haha!

    I have zero experience with sandbags but i'd like to give it a go. I need to re-structure my workout program and build it around these real-world conditioning tools so that i'll become stronger and more efficient in my job (i work constructions) and more importantly, i can train full body and that will save me time.
    Which weight should i start with for stuff like sandbag squats, sandbag to shoulder, sandbag over the shoulder, carries, etc.?
    Which is a good brand of sandbags? Thanks!
