- In 1978, Doors fan Mack Mckenzie knocked on Robby Krieger’s door with a demo tape in hand, hoping Robby might fulfill a dream and collaborate with him. After listening to the demo, Robby agreed and recruited friends Arthur Barrow, Vinnie Colaiuta and Don Poncher to be in a short-lived band called “Red Shift”. They cut seven tracks in the studio, had a few gigs in Los Angeles, and for unknown reasons, “Red Shift” disbanded. Forty years later, we can now enjoy this time capsule of the emerging punk scene in Los Angeles.

Superbe album vraiment original, à la fois brut et travaillé. Un univers bien particulier mais passionnant.
Mérite beaucoup plus de succès à sa sortie en 1979.
Awesome !
I have always regretted not being able to attend a Red Shift show in Philly in '82 or '83. After hearing this, my regret has turned to gratefulness.
@@rs8492 The show was advertised in the Philadelphia Inquirer as Red Shift. It was definitely the early eighties.
@@rs8492 Look, I don't know what to tell you. You're basically saying that Robby's management, who booked the show, did not know the correct name of the band when they advertised it. Maybe Robby didn't know what to call his band, so he simply called it Red Shift. But that is how the show was advertised in Philly in late '82 or early '83. The show was also reviewed under the name Red Shift as well. It definitely was NOT booked as a Robby Krieger Band show. I hope this clears it up for you.
This may sound like you dislike the record.
