"Making architecture global is a disaster". Could not agree more. Regional identity is key to success and the peoples who will inhabit it, and I appreciate his respect for the vernacular.
I am impressed with the buildings the firm creates. The photos of the firm's many buildings added to this video, but why aren't they named and commented by the architects? The simple premise of using local ideas and nature to inform the building plan for each building is important, but continuously restated by the architect. I blame the video maker for the unnecessary restatements of this theme. More time should of been used explaining how the firm's other buildings were informed by their local cultures. This was a boring exploration of an important architectural idea.
Boring and superficial. Daylight, cultural adaptation, temperature control. Those premises are universal. All architecture should be like that. Also superficial translations - "a rock", "a wave", come on now. My 3rd year students also use those kinds of "concepts". Overrated

true, that cultural continuity is totally lost in most of the starchitects' works and that's like a global pandemic that needs to stop.
Amazing!!!!
Interested. Broad. And busy all over. Also honest.
When we talking about architecture, we are not talking about spatial, form or aesthetics, we talking about content.
no es
they all need to be talked at the same time, at least that's what a good architect does - juggling things.

This is very much like BIG, vapid concepts that translate into weak buildings.
