Love this song and love to watch him sing it on the 1971 G.O.O. video on UA-cam. Thank you again for your continued effort to find and share his awesome voice with us. You are doing a fantastic job in keeping his memory alive.
Ronny would have to be pleased with your efforts to keep his dad's memory alive. You are always trying to find and post his videos for this I am so grateful. Thank you so much.

When people like yourself take the time and trouble to comment and message me it makes all my efforts so worthwhile. Thanks so much Sandra for your continued kindness and thoughtfulness. Dave
This song was made famous by Hank Williams but was written by the great Leon Payne, a blind singer and songwriter from Beaumont, Texas. He used to go stand by the highway with his guitar and someone would come along and give him a ride to where he was playing, then someone would take him home after the show. America must have been a safer place in those days. He also wrote "I Love You Because" and many other great country songs.
It is so ad when this man sings because he shows just how poor the modern group of popular entertainers really are When was the last time you understood the words of a top ten hit?
