This is great! I’ve been watching your videos for 2 years and it helped me transition into ICU. I now care for open heart patients. I will definitely sign up for the ICU Advantage Academy!
CE hours with the same UA-cam vibe we have come and love; this sounds amazing. Any moment can be a great time to study and learn. Thank you. 😊
My wife just started on this today. 5 to 7 days in observation. Then home with a pump. I wish I was a nurse. I wish I was her PCP. Her cardiac doctors are amazing. I could never catch up. 40 years old is a little late to start med school. This info helps. I take it all in and research everything. Hopefully it goes well. She is an adult congenital heart defect patient. Transposition of the major arteries. Senning procedure at birth. Major switch done at age 35. Complications after with multiple crashes. Medically induced coma. Ended up doing a mechanical Aortic valve. Slow decline in cardiac output over the years. Headed for heart transplant. ❤️
Thank you for your work.
And for making it available!
Wow you have been her rock through all of this. I hope everything works out.
You help me pass my boards, and I recently you are helping me study for my CCRN. I am so happy to hear about your channel. The audio only version sounds so good for a good walk in the park. Thank you for enjoying being an educator, because it helps me enjoy being a student when I can sense your passions for the subject. 😊
Congratulations
Yes congratulations. You are now one of the heroes. Now go out there and do some good!

Thanks for this video. Im a new grad, had to call a rapid response on a patient and sent him to ICU. Had them again as a patient few days later when he was sent back to our floor and they had put them on a milrinone drip. At the time I didnt really know much about it, this video helps so much! Thanks
Sweet. Well hopefully it makes sense now with what was going on with your patient on why they would go with Milrinone!
I am returning to CVICU after being retired for 10 years. Thank you for your videos!
I love the work you put into your videos! Thank you for all you do!
Thanks so much Michael. Happy to be able to help!
Hello, ICU advantage i am loving this series, please keep it up, i enjoy the simplistic explanations, thank you so much!
Awesome. Thanks so much for the great feedback. Glad to know this series is enjoyed!
Is there anyway you can cover some neuro stuff? Like EVD’s, lumbar drains, Codman’s etc? Love your content.
Yes! I did a poll a while back and cardiac was solid first place, with neuro being a solid 2nd place. So after I do a bit more of cardiac stuff, then I'll be going back to more neuro.
I love your work so much. I signed up for the lifetime member for the academy 😊
Awesome! Thank you so much! Really great to know you enjoy the videos and excited for when the Academy officially launches! I’ll see you over there!
That’s wonderful!!! Love the videos you put out! I will pre order! TY
Thanks so much Kim! Happy to hear that and look forward to seeing you in the Academy!
Love it! I'll register for the pre-order and prepare for ICU job in the future!
Awesome! Look forward to seeing you in there once it officially launches!
Just wanna say, I am really loving this channel! I’m a newer nurse (just over a year experience) and I’m actively working to get an ICU position. These videos are super helpful for getting education on things I don’t usually see on my ortho floor! Any chance you could recommend some videos/topics I should start with to get a better basic understanding of ICU care?
Hey Catherine! Really glad to hear you are finding the videos helpful. As for recommended topics, to start out I'd maybe suggest the following playlists I have:
ACLS Review
ECG Interpretation
ABGs
Airway Management
Ventilators
Fluid Management
Critical Care Labs
ICU Drips
Hemodynamics
That should cover a lot of baseline foundational knowledge.
Awesome! Thanks
Congratulations 🎉
Just had a patient in the field who was on this and in failure with SPO2 of 68%
They were sent home on it I take it? EOL?
I hope you add translation to old videos
Congratulations
Interest in issues with APS(thick blood) with heart failure and it’s treatment of myocarditis , thanks
Thanks for the video love all your content. Do you have or planning on doing a video for phenylephrine?
Thanks Sean and glad to hear that. As for Neo, yes I do have that on the todo list!
Hiya Eddie, quick question: I work as an RN in the CVICU and when being on a milrinone infusion, we are asked to measure the sO2 on a VBG; could you explain why that is? They particularly ask for us to do it when weaning milrinone - thanks!
i have the same question!
Bolus of Milrinone is not recommended in the 2022 AHA/ACC/HFSA guideline for management of HF as it may precipitate hypotension. What are your thoughts or your clinical experience?
Also great video! thank you!
I personally had never given the bolus. Always just started it. Thats for sharing that info. I'll have to look into it.
Got zapped up
Would your classes count for ConEd in EMS?
That’s a good question. Let me see if I can find an answer. I’d think yes, but then no if you were an MD looking for CME. Let me see if I can find out. What state are you in?
@@ICUAdvantage Massachusetts and New Hampshire
What about vasospasm post SAH..
Interesting. I hadn't heard about this but a quick search did show a potentially promising study. I'll have to look into it more. Thanks for sharing!
